At this point needing a pass rusher is more of a need til we get Hardy and Gregory back these next three games.

Oh, I know....I was just throwing out their possible perspective.
I thought Philly righted the ship to some degree in the second half last night and that Atlanta is a greatly improved...and maybe even dangerous.
Doesn't mean we can't beat both of them.

This isn't meant to be a panic thread by any means.

Matt Ryan did his utmost to try and give the game to the Eagles and they still didn't win. Atlanta didn't look all that good.

I think Greogory is the bigger loss possibly. We have capable WR's and TE's, backs that can catch, but we don't have that quick twitch pass rusher that he is.

From my man Sisko:
Ben Sisko said:
There is an old saying. Fortune favors the bold! Well. I guess we're about to find out.
The remaining schedule depends on coaching, player execution, motivation and positive health outcomes as the season progresses. The team has proven it can accomplish the first three criteria. The fourth is a question mark. Then again it is always a question mark any season. I believe the team is well-balance as is to compete with every team left to play in the regular season. There may be times when things don't look pretty but looks aren't important. Enough wins are.

My guess is that Philly and Atlanta watched our game Sunday night and said NY and Dallas were exposed.

Doesn't mean they're right, but just sayin

Nah. There was one quarterback in the NFC East that struck fear in the hearts of all competition. Hint - it wasn't Kirk Cousins.

The offense has the potential to put up 30 pts a game without Dez, as long as the running game is working and Romo is behind center.

The backs need to be used in the passing game like they were week 1 and something I'd like to see is Witten and Escobar on the field at the same, Escobar as a WR maybe?

I tread lightly with my responses in a topic like this. I think of Bryant as a top three receiver. Scandrick is a great complement to pass defense when he's on his A-game. Leary is underappreciated (even by me) but is a rock steady offensive lineman. Even with this said, I acknowledge the team's efforts to build quality depth to shore up all three players' absences. Not flashy, mind you. Not rock solid either. There are a few question marks, especially in the secondary.

However, the only absence bothering me is Gregory. Getting consistent pressure on the opposing team's quarterback was the number one goal for elevating the team beyond last season's effort (not necessarily overall record but effort) in my opinion. I see this team with the ability to compete strongly all four quarters in every area consistently except pass rush. Personally, I thought I would have seen more out of Lawrence against the Giants. I am satisfied with Crawford but we need push from the ends... at least until Hardy returns to the lineup. And hopefully he will join the defense as good as advertised.

The next four games are crazy important to the outcome of this season but after a bye week this team gets Hardy, Dez, McClain and Gregory back. Those could be the best players on the entire roster out side of Romo, Martin and Smith. Leary is day to day.
