Keep an eye on Blake Jarwin. A 'blocking' TE that didnt get much opportunity as far as receiving goes, but I hear it's not bc he can't catch. I think this guy has a strong chance to join the long list of UDFA to make the team, based solely on the injury concern of Hanna.
I am! There is no question another TE will make the 53 to replace Hanna if he is done and it could be Jarwin.

How the heck does Hanna have the combine numbers he has? Their insane. He's better in every single category than OJ Howard, which is ridiculous.

James Hanna
40 time - 4.49
bench - 24 reps
vertical - 36 inch
broad - 122 inch
3 cone - 6.76
20 yard - 4.11
60 yard - 11.43

OJ Howard
40 time - 4.51
bench - 22 reps
vertical - 30 inch
broad - 121 inch
3 cone - 6.85
20 yard - 4.16
60 yard - 11.46

It certainly does not translate to the field. He is the opposite of explosive coming out of breaks.

Swaim and Hanna won't make the 53. Mark it down, you heard it here first.

With all due respect, I have heard that before :)

None the less, they are both hard workers and were good solders during their time here. If one of the two can make it back, I think it would be for the better.

I'm fairly sure that Swaim will make a successful comeback -- not so sure about Hanna, though. That bone-on-bone knee is serious.

The team can use a guard/tackle to block outside, and start some plays with six offensive linemen.

I had Jarwin in one of my mock drafts in the 7th.
Swaim had the same rep coming out of college, I think. It was that he could block, but not much opportunities to catch the ball, or maybe it was he could catch, but needed to work on his blocking. LOL. Anyway, he was in the same situation. And he and Dak seem to have a good rapport last year.

I fully expect one of these but most likely both will start TC on PUP.
History has shown, whenever Dallas has players in this situation. And even if they say they will be ready by TC, or expected to be. They go on PUP. Or at least held out of practices doing sideline work for several weeks. But never have a full TC at all.

Not saying this to sound too negative, but in most cases , it turns out to be true.

now for Swaim, yes he will be back, but I feel he will miss a good part of TC, as this they need to be cautious with. Not rush him back too soon as they did with Dez.

It was a huge mistake not taking Jake Butt in the draft. If you are going to allow a Tight end to recover from injury it might as well be a first round talent one.

Well I was thinking we would take him instead of Switz, but I figured we would take a receiver there either way.

Looks like we are all in on Rico.

I think we can survive. TE play wasnt our bane last year, wont be our bane this year.

Some of you forgot we have the next best thing after the last best thing before the future best thing, so Rico got this, hes a army ranger, navy seal, black ops agent, CIA assassin, IRS tracker, all rolled into one. Hes got this.

I think he has a chance because of his position flex. He has blocked out of the backfield and can line up out wide as a WR. He could be the FB, 4th TE, and redzone WR all in one roster spot. That allows you to keep an extra player somewhere, maybe Noah Brown.
