Standard operating proceedure under Garrett is to wait for training camp with players returning from significant injuries.

Gathers, Jarwin and McFarland are not only going to get a lot of reps but will get more attention from position coaches as well. Would say Witten as resource too but we all know Witt doesn't mentor, he competes.

I figure we will carry 3 TEs, not reason to force it when we already need to think about going long at WR, DL, and DB.

I wouldn't be surprised if that ends up being our plan before all is said and done. If Rico has progressed as well as reported and indeed, continues to do so on that level, we might be fine as long as injuries don't compromise us at TE. Even if they do, that's what the practice squad is there for.

Hanna is a question mark but I fully expect Swaim to make the 53.

Good reps for Rico and Jarwin though

I'm anticipating some sort of a settlement with Hanna. I think he's done. And even if he claims otherwise, I'm not depending on a player who has taken so long to recover and missed so much time.

Skills that didn't show up in preseason (3.5 ypc) or coaches wanted on the team to keep around.

3.5 you running behind who? How much work did he get with the starting offensive line?

And, did they not "keep him around" for the majority of the season? Is that the part you're trying to claim was the mistake? Let's be clear here.

Really? Again with the preseason OL arguement? And what so called 1st team defenses did he face in preseason? Just as the Cowboys were not playing the majority of the OL in preseason, teams were also doing the same on defense.

Keep around as in still being on the team.

I'm done with the Jackson lovefest. Guess I will move on from this topic.

Well some of us actually watched the preseason and know the OL reserves got their butts handed to them.

As long as you keep trying to undermine the player, I'll bring up those factors.

And what so called 1st team defenses did he face in preseason? Just as the Cowboys were not playing the majority of the OL in preseason, teams were also doing the same on defense.

You tell me. I don't know who or what opposing defenses were playing.

Keep around as in still being on the team.

As in worthy of being among the 53, for the majority of the season.

I'm done with the Jackson lovefest. Guess I will move on from this topic.

Fair enough.

I had hope for Swaim. The 2nd Tight End on the Cowboys is doomed. Not a good position on this team for about 14 years.
