Manning is gone. Osweiler is gone. The Broncos are in dire need of a QB with the 31st pick in the 1st round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

According to the Draft Value Chart Dallas' #4 is worth 1800 points whereas Denver's #31 rings in at 600. That's a difference of 1200 points for all of you who decided not to pay attention in grammar school.

One would have to think that Denver is at least entertaining the idea of moving up into a top spot to snag their QB of the future. With Romo on the mend after post-season surgery turning him into a Robo-Romo hybrid, Kellen Moore likely to resign, and a healthy Dez, one would think that a repeat debacle of the 2015 season lies far in the distance.

The Boys are sitting on 9 picks and although we all want our cake and we want it now, there's room to ponder what we could acquire from them if such a deal transpired. If it were me, I wouldn't even consider it unless the deal started with Denver surrendering their 2017 1st. I would go on to ask for the 2016 3rd.

With a rookie QB, or a FA pick up or trade, I don't see Denver repeating what they did this year. I put them middle of the pack when selecting in next year's draft.

So, My question... With the Cowboys sitting on 9 picks, would it be worth it to you for the Boys to swap picks with Denver to cash in on 2017? Again, I know we have a lot of holes to fill, but with 9 picks, and potentially picking up a 2016 third, (Hypothetical of course) we would not only be able to fill many of our needs this year but also put ourselves in a prime position with two 1st rounders in 17.

Thoughts on this move?

The cost of moving down will probably be far less than prior years, but you are way undervaluing the pick. Trading from #4 to 31 eliminates lots of options for us and lets way too much talent go off the board before our pick. This years first and second and a first next year would still not be enough to drop that far, but is closer in the ballpark.

Horrible. Pick 31 their 3rd and 2017 Denver 1st does not come close.

In your opinion, what would it take? I know it's hard to judge because we don't know where Denver will sit come next year, but I've always been a fan of grabbing extra 1sts to parlay into something bigger.

With regards to asking for their 2nd... after revisiting the chart, I have to agree with you. I didn't realize that their 2nd rounder was only worth 276 points.

I don't even know how many future 1sts you can trade away, but if it's less than three future 1sts they can stay where they are. I would want significantly more than what the Browns got from Atlanta to move down that far. With this type of trade you just about have to start including players because the value just isn't going to be enough for what any team would be willing to give up.

For Denver to go to 4 from 31, you start with next year's #1, probably 2018s too............... and then this year's #2 at the very least, likely a lot more.

I think it is probably too big of a move to make but maybe if they included a couple of good players under contract.

Give me 3 first round picks (2016-18), a 2016 2nd, 2017 3rd & 4th, & Courtney Roby and they'd have a deal

I think the minimum trade would include two firsts and a second for our #4 overall. That wouldn't be enough to equalize the trade value chart, but it would start getting in the ballpark. I think a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd this year plus next year's first would be a great deal for us regardless of what the trade chart says.

Elway's not going to mortgage the Bronco's future like that.

He wouldn't make a stupid trade, but keep in mind this team needs a QB NOW, and the Denver team is still built to win NOW. If they can get what they believe is the guy for two firsts and a second they would probably do it. Keep in mind that all of their picks would probably be in the latter part of every round.

Realistically, Denver is so far down that they aren't going to be our initial trade partner from #4, unless they give up way more than they should be willing to move up to get to #4 overall. They could be a trade partner for us if we end up trading back more than once, but are too far down to be a realistic trade back target initially.

I would imagine that whatever QB they could get at 31 would be just as Day 1 ready as a QB from either DeVry North Dakota or Memphis Tech, despite the (allegedly) lower "ceilings".

The more realistic scenario is Denver trading for Kap and we trade our 1st no 4 to SF for their 1st and 2nd so SF can draft Goff. IN this draft it might only net a 1st and 3rd. It might still be worth it depending on who we are targeting in the 1st. If it's Ramsey or Bosa we probably couldn't do it.
