Honestly, with the defense that Denver has, they'd be better served to stay put and draft a rookie... I wouldn't be surprised if they take Connor Cook
at the bottom of round 1.

If they're thinking trade..... Washington moved up from 6 to 2 to select RG3... it cost them three #1s and more... so the person that suggested
multiple picks and Courtney Robey is not off base in that line of thinking.

Manning is gone. Osweiler is gone. The Broncos are in dire need of a QB with the 31st pick in the 1st round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

According to the Draft Value Chart Dallas' #4 is worth 1800 points whereas Denver's #31 rings in at 600. That's a difference of 1200 points for all of you who decided not to pay attention in grammar school.

One would have to think that Denver is at least entertaining the idea of moving up into a top spot to snag their QB of the future. With Romo on the mend after post-season surgery turning him into a Robo-Romo hybrid, Kellen Moore likely to resign, and a healthy Dez, one would think that a repeat debacle of the 2015 season lies far in the distance.

The Boys are sitting on 9 picks and although we all want our cake and we want it now, there's room to ponder what we could acquire from them if such a deal transpired. If it were me, I wouldn't even consider it unless the deal started with Denver surrendering their 2017 1st. I would go on to ask for the 2016 3rd.

With a rookie QB, or a FA pick up or trade, I don't see Denver repeating what they did this year. I put them middle of the pack when selecting in next year's draft.

So, My question... With the Cowboys sitting on 9 picks, would it be worth it to you for the Boys to swap picks with Denver to cash in on 2017? Again, I know we have a lot of holes to fill, but with 9 picks, and potentially picking up a 2016 third, (Hypothetical of course) we would not only be able to fill many of our needs this year but also put ourselves in a prime position with two 1st rounders in 17.

Thoughts on this move?

Grammar school or is that basic math?

Horrible idea. They'd have to give me 4 1st rounders

I think that's stretching it a bit.

Not exactly. Commanders gave up 3 first rounders for griffin and they only moved up like 4-5 spots and wasn't a Super Bowl team that likely will not have a top 10-15 pick the next few years

Horrible. Pick 31 their 3rd and 2017 Denver 1st does not come close.

This.

Next year's 1st plus this year's 3rd fits more with the 15th pick, not the 31st

The OP does have point in Denver possibly moving up...or they might just wIt for Lynch to fall to them.

You know what I was thinking the same thing. But I wanted their first this year AND Von Miller. Also since a qb is premium we can also get a future pick from them too.

With regards to asking for their 2nd... after revisiting the chart, I have to agree with you. I didn't realize that their 2nd rounder was only worth 276 points.

Also, their 1st in 2017, only equals a second round value now as well...oh, it would cost them much more than two firsts and a third this year. I would start at 1st and 2nd round picks for this year and next.

With their current roster, they either put their 'big boy' pants on...or watch as quarterback choke makes things very difficult, both this year and next.

I would look at it from a completely different perspective. Offer Denver Romo for this year's first and third, next year's first, and 2018 3rd. They probably wouldn't take it, but they are built to win now, and it would offer them a legitimate shot at two super bowls... Elway would hate paying the price, but you never know...

Of course I wouldn't make the trade until either Wentz or Goff was available at 4.

We can trade Romo to them and then everyone wins:

We clear a load of cap space and get somr picks.

Broncos get a veteran pro bowl QB.

Romo gets to take Mannings magic medicine and so prolongs his career.

I would be willing to give them our #4 for a Ditka type trade.

Denver gets #4
Dallas gets their entire draft this year, plus their #1 next year.

But Denver is run by a smart guy; they aren't trading for guys like Wentz and Goff who have question marks. They'll draft a QB somewhere in the draft, and they'll move forward with a journeyman veteran. They won the SB with crap at QB...they can take their time.

Maybe some of our history buffs can look it up...
has a team ever traded up 27 slots in the 1st round?

It would cost maybe 3 years of #1s and probably a #2 as well.

I want their 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and next years first.

Catch17 that's exactly the trade I would want was already thinking that before you posted.
It would take that for me to pull the plug and if they offered it I would take it.
