I'm not a T.O. apologist. I don't like his me first attitude and how he would as soon shoot a QB as look at them if they don't get him the ball for a few weeks straight. (i.e., no real loyalty to any QB)

But I don't believe that T.O. is the problem. I really don't. I think he has been poorly utilized. I think the coaching staff has been hit and miss in their approach to using him. Despite the poor approach, he still has over 1,000 yards receiving and leads the league in TD catches. That CAN'T be our #1 problem, and it isn't.

Now to my point. Who has T.O. benefited the most this year? It might just be Bill Parcells.

While ESPN and almost every NFL TV analyst breathing makes T.O. their target day after day after day, very few have noticed that this isn't the first December swoon for the Parcells Cowboys. It has happened EVERY year he has been here.

Instead of the intense scrutiny falling on T.O., I'm one who thinks it ought to fall on Parcells.

Instead of him shunning "the player", it might be time for a hug. No one has taken more heat off Parcells this year, intentionally or unintentionally, than Terrell Owens.

Good post. It wasnt Pro-TO and it wasnt ANTI-TO.... just a good DIFFERENT point of view post.

I believe there is some truth to what you are saying AND TO helping this team score almost 10 points more than last year is ALSO taking pressure off of BP... because without it.. BP and Cowboys miss playoffs 3 out 4 years during the BP reign

TO is still a big reason that this team is underperforming. You have to make those catches for your team. TO is not in the same class of a Michael Irvin or Chris Carter. BP deserves some blame, but TO is underperforming as well. He has always had a problem with drops, but this is getting rediculous.

I agree with this....

I don't know how anyone can say that he has been "underutilized". I believe that he has more passes thrown his wy than any other receiver on this team.

T.O. is not BP's best friend. Tony Romo is........ because without him, BP's same ol' same ol' Cowboys would be finishing 6-10 or 7-9 ONCE AGAIN. Tony Romo saved Bill's *** and I guarantee you right now, were it not for Romo, BP would be layin' it up after this year.

Yes, TO deflected away from BP, but BP needs to thank Romo every damn day for not making him (BP) look like a complete WASTE OF TIME.

BP's time had come and gone long before he even got here.

TO is a great scapegoat. He was for his 2 previous teams, and he may end up being one for this team.

How was he a scapegoat for SF?

They should have disciplined him the minute he started going off on their OC.

Philly....he signed the contract and was advised against it. Hardly a scapegoat in either instance.

Let's also not forget about his crying to get out of the trade to Baltimore....when they didn't allow another player that had the EXACT same thing happen to him to get out of his. No wonder he has a sense of entitlement.

Cowboys in December under Bill Parcells:
2003: 2-2
2004: 2-2
2005: 2-2
2006: 2-2 (1 to go)

hmm

"Terrell Owens ruined two franchises."

I've heard it 1000 times.

The bottom line is that Philly and San Fran both had many many more problems than Terrell Owens.

Same case with us.

But to say that HE was the scapegoat? Please. Everybody and their mother said the guy needed to go....even alot of their fans were on board when they got rid of him. Same thing with Philthy. A matter of time before it is with Dallas as well.

Face it, he is NO LONGER the best WR in the NFL....on this I agree with Theisman on. He went through a whole list of who he would rather have and I couldn't disagree with a single one of them and I can't really even stand Theisman.

Memo to T.O.: Just shut up and play....and catch the ball.

Make sure you mail that memo to TG too. (Or is this just another I hate TO comment?)

Hey that reminds me. :lmao2:

You claimed in a TO bashing thread yesterday that Tg had two drops on Monday.

He had only one, and it was nullified by a penalty (which sure doesn't excuse it)

so what's with all the misrepresentation and HATE of a receiver who has exctly THREE drops ALL YEAR?

No hate at all. You know that. I love the guy. However, a drop is a drop and a spout of the mouth is a spout of the mouth. If you call one out for something both did you had better call the other out as well. That's only fair. Right? We're not talking historically speaking. We're talking about the events that occurred during and after the Monday game.

Historically speaking there's no doubt in my mind Glenn is a stand up guy that just makes big catches. Nevertheless, you make your bed next to TO you had better be expected to lie in it.

It darn well is hate.

Just how did TG make his bed next to TO?

I'm getting sick of this act of yours.

He made it Monday when he spouted off to the media. Where were you? It's well documented. Obviously not as well documented as TO's every move but someone got a whiff of it. As I have stated time and time again, I think TG is an incredible player. I'm not sure where the hate assumption is coming from but ok. I'll play your game. ;)

Ok, let me break this down for you.

San Francisco - Many problems that led to a poor season.

Philadelphia - Many problems that led to a poor season.

Who gets the blame for both poor seasons? Terrell Owens. That is a scapegoat.

I'm not really sure why this is hard for you to understand.
