The coaches had a couple of years to explain what was expected to Taco, and to motivate him to provide it.
Much like our play calling, I suspect it's a case of "we do what we do" in personnel management, and if "what we do" doesn't work for a player, they consider it a failure of the player and not the coaching staff.
