Apologies if this has been asked before.

I the opportunity presents itself, would anyone else be willing to draft Jordan Palmer in say, the fourth or fifth round? He would be a project, but maybe we could have our own little brother syndrome here in Big D.

I wouldn't mind him backing up Romo.

I hope Dallas drafts a young QB but I would still like a vet player as the backup. It would be almost impossible to count on a rookie to come in at the spur of the moment and do much.

we need an expereinced vet for backup right now since we are going full blast to the SB and if Romo goes down we need someone who can step in, ala Garcia

Garcia wouldn't come here for Peyton Manning money (well, maybe he would). HE is already in the best situation of he wants to be a backup, cause McFlab can;t make it through a season. He wants to start somewhere, and that ain't going to be here.

I agree a vet would be a good thing, but there is not much out there. Collins? Johnson? Since we have two supposedly great QB guys in Garret and Wilson, why not draft a guy like Palmer and start grooming him?

It really doesn't matter who the back up is, if Romo goes down, we are hurting.

We have the developmental guy here in Baker, so I would prefer to get a vet to play behind Romo.

Dallas could still draft a QB and work on developing him and bring is a vet to back up Romo. A rookie is not going to help us this season, we do have a better chance with a guy like a Brad Johnson or even a Collins who at least know what the heck they are looking at. I agree they are not great players but they are good backup guys who at least give you a chance and can come in a game in a pinch.

3rd string maybe but not as the backup.

I dont care who it is as long as its not a Rookie. I dont want to be 1 hit away from a Rookie and all hope lost.

60+ picks, is 60+ picks.

He has thrown a lot of picks but he has real physical ability. Keep in mind, Palmer hasn't played a lot of QB. He definatly needs coaching and there are no guarantees but he has the natural stuff to be a big time QB in the NFL.

60 something picks in the weak WAC.

Don't get the interest in him.

Perhaps you should do your homework, the Miners have been in Conference USA a coupla years now...

And when was the last time any Miner quarterback led his team to multiple bowl appearances??

I'd rather have Kolb. At least he was able to beat a pitiful Univ of Memphis team. :D

You throw a lot of picks in college - will probably throw a lot in the pros. Sounds like a Farve wannabe.

I agree with this. I like Kolb better as well. However, I don't know that Kolb will be around in the 5th or 6th round. Heck, who knows, Palmer might not be either but I think the chances are better that Kolb goes before Palmer. To me, Plamer has work to do before he can QB a Pro team. He is exactly what you want to look for in a developmental QB IMO. I guess we'll see.

Jerry Rhome was on GAC yesterday and he said Kolb was his #1 sort of sleeper pick among QBs. Said he's worked with Kolb leading up to the combine, and he was really impressive.

If Palmer weren't Carson's brother, he wouldn't get much attention. If we're getting a Miner, I'd rather have Higgins. :)

How do you do the little icon with the hammer and the nail?

If Jordan's last name weren't Palmer, he'd be an UDFA.

Having a different offensive system that doesn't play to his skills along with a certain WR on our team would be additional reason Garcia might not want to come here.
