Hmm, he is a sports director in Philly.

In other news..................
Report: #Eagles qb Michael Vick refuses to be a backup, he took his ball and went home.

This guy really went out on a limb here

Howard Eskin ‏@howardeskin 18m
Report: #Cowboys de marcus Ware refuses to take pay cut and will be released by dallas. Actually smart decision by Cowboys

Not sure where he's getting his sources and yes it's Howard Eskin, but it could be true.

If we do release Ware, I agree with the move.

You know..

my logic says this is a good thing if he has to go due to the cap problems..

..but I'm going to miss him and wish him well.

He played his heart out for us when he was healthy.

While I think if the draft goes well..

.we can replace his 6 sacks from last season..

with a quality DE or even a quality LBer who can pass rush and play the 3rd LBer position.

So I'm curious about how it would be overcome with his departure.

Thanks for sharing. It's a bold move, if true. But I think it's the right one at this point. Two years of declining production and recurring physical problems. He'll be a good player for a while, yet, but he's expensive, and he's getting worse, and not better.

If hes does get released I have to admit ill be bummed. I know its a smart move and is probably what is best for the team but damn do I hate seeing one of my favorite cowboys go. Personally I would have liked to see him have one more year to try and correct some things but I guess the cap situation just wont allow for it. Definitely just an all around crappy situation.

I really hope Ware is cut. :D Now Eskin is a slimey Phili fan but I have hope he heard some truth on this one. Yes I will be excited to see Ware (and his huge cap charge) leave. I won't even miss his play the last two seasons. He was the leader of the worst defense ever. But after it is done I will remember the great 3-4 LB that he was for the Cowboys.

i would also agree with the move if he doesn't budge.

however, i hate to see outstanding players finish their careers in a different uniform, especially when it's possible to avoid that.

my preference would be for ware to accept an incentives-laden deal that works for the team and allows him to close out his hall of fame career in dallas.

I still think Ware has two or three years left.

Unfortunately, because of our stellar cap management, we can't afford to take that risk

What's it going to be then, eh?

(If true) Does Ware actually think he can make more money on the FA market?

If we cut ware and do not have him finish his career here I hope he goes to a rival and has his best season ever.

Hopefully if cut he ends up like everson walls and wins a Super Bowl.

Btw. This ware issue is going to make me hate even more cowboys fans

enjoy rooting for a rival. Some fans follow the players and the real fans follow the team

Even if you are in amazing position why take risks when the CAP is everything?

I think it's important to try and view these kinds of things from the perspective of, "If this were me....", so to speak. I mean, I understand that this would be what most fans want to see happen but I also understand that if it were one of us in this situation, I doubt we would ever settle for a deal like that if we were DWare. He doesn't have to settle for that. He can get a contract with another team for decent money, IMO, that would not be based on performance. There are enough teams out there that could limit the snaps DWare would play and simply use him to his best advantage. There really is nothing wrong with DWare's legs. It's all neck and shoulders, from what I recall. He could go to a team that needs a pass rusher and make a lot of money IMO.

It's unfortunate but that's probably what happens if we don't keep him.
