(If true) Does Ware actually think he can make more money on the FA market?

Probably not, just wants to get out of this mess....JJ has created a complete dumpster fire and Ware is exiting stage left. Good for him.

I do not think players care about championships anymore. They are more concerned about stability, money and then they start being concerned if the organization is a mess and what not.

Sometimes you see that player claim they are moving on "to win a championship" but usually not exactly the case.

I prefer a pay cut equal or close to the cap savings from a release. Throw some incentives at him. Play up retiring as only a Cowboy.

But if all that doesn't work then we have to release him. We simply can't afford a restructure or a let it ride season.

I don't know how agents can work the back room but I guess at times they can pick up the phone and call someone is an organization to run things by them. If Ware can get some bites then he may dig his heels in.

The Cowboys almost have to ask for a pay cut if they are to keep him. If they can renegotiate his contract, give him incentives and spread that out over a few years then there is a chance he could return. I'm not certain another team is going to offer him big bucks.

Thanks for sharing but this is a non-factor for me. Eskin doesn't know anything about Dallas or it's teams. He barely has decent contacts in Philly. He used to be a good source 15 years ago but is now constantly wrong.

very wrong. The established guys that have already made their money look for a shot at the ring. It is very important to a lot of guys that have made pro bowls and such but never played in a SB.

There are a few exceptions, but I honestly think there are more players that do not care about where they play nearly as much as how much they are paid. I also think a lot of players mismanage their money and that drives a lot of decisions they make. Even college players are coming out early trying to get a head start on that second contract.

I hope Dallas can keep Ware just not at the current price tag, I think he has game left. He has already had his surgery so he should be ready to go when camp roles around.

I don't think getting rid of Ware is in our best interests, seeing how thin we are at just having bodies to suit up.
But I think we'd all agree that his salary that is hurting us is not consistent with his total worth.
