Talent versus culture what's the most important

Would prefer both but I'd take talent over culture. Usually go hand in hand any way when winning.

We have had talent here many times at many different positions.

But we have not had a good culture in 30 years and we have not been able to make use of the talent we have had as a result.

We've never had talent at the right positions. Jerry is a follow the ball fan, and builds his teams accordingly. That's why we don't win.

True we've always been at least three players away and never had the trenches on both side of the ball squared up at the same time.

And the defensive tackle position was most certainly the red-headed stepchild of this team for eons .
Just recently have we decided to make it a priority finally after we have exhausted every other possible method to try and build the defense in every wrong way possible

Combine that with a culture that caters to marketing business decisions podcasts and generational wealth.

And you have the underachieving gold standard of mediocrity that we have suffered through for the last 30 years.

We finally started the D the right way, and we're completely talent bereft elsewhere on D. Due to past bad drafting, personnel mismanagement, and terrible salary cap mgmt.

Yes I'm hoping now that we have the foundation of our defense set that the new coaching those two first round draft picks and hopefully better health in the back end of our defense can get us somewhere around the middle of the pack instead of dead last in defense.
I think somewhere around 17 to 20 could get us to the playoffs if this year's schedule does not prove too difficult

I got to believe it all starts with the culture when we were the best we had a strong culture and the players wanted to win Super bowls and it meant something to them.

That culture started with leadership and strong coaching.

Landry and his coaching tree and later Jimmy Johnson strong coaches Hall of Fame coaches that brought championship culture.

It seems with our team now that we need much more talent than other teams because we have such a weak culture other teams seem to do more with less because they are disciplined accountable and actually want to win a Super bowl.

Our talented players mirror our owner and concentrate on being the highest paid at their positions and don't take winning a Super bowl as a serious priority.

I feel we can continue to add talent but until we establish a winning culture that's not all about making money and about winning a championship we are just spinning our Wheels.

From the looks of it we have a whole load of young coaches on this coaching staff it will be interesting to see if they change the culture and shape this roster into something.

There is really nobody on this coaching staff with the experience and the reputation that I would look at and say this guy is a slam dunk to change the culture on this team and create a winning atmosphere.

It's really a crap shoot as to whether we will add talent to our defense with those number one draft picks and it will make the kind of difference we are hoping for.
Imo if the culture doesn't change radically I don't think we're going to get the result from the draft picks that we hope for
The whole culture thing is a bunch of bullfeces. Many of your most talented and successful players of all time in the N.F.L. were not good men. This is a fan fantasy.
