• Going to be a hot humid ugly day for Miami game.

• Sterlin Moore said he came back too early and retweek his injury.

• Broaddus: Looks like Dallas is going in the direction of Tyler Patmon in the slot for week 1 if Moore isnt ready to go. BW Webb is not getting the snaps in the slot. Patmon is.

• Ro McClain thigh wrapped up after practice. Big cramps. So theres no need to question he was injured. his question is, reliability.

• Carter started working at the SAM spot today and Durant at the WILL. Hitchen's got snaps at the MIKE with McClain out.

• Biggest question on defense is MLB and RDE.

• Wilber starting to take snaps at RDE.

• You're going to see MIncey at RDE, but they are going to play Wilber with his hand on the ground. Get him more work.

• Wilber a yr later is stronger, and the good thing about Wilber playing the SAM is he plays with his hands, and that will only improve his game now playing more RDE.

• Team likes the way Hitchens runs, and we could see him in the nickle package with Carter.

• The key to this numbers game in spots on the roster comes to the availability of Anthony Spencer. If he's going to be ready by week 2 then the team could carry him. If not then probably a PUP guy.

• Tony Romo's day off was a scheduled day off.

• MIckey: talking to Romo i feel he will play more then 2 series. Weather could dictate how much he plays though.

• Change of day off will now be Monday off.

• Broaddus: would you consider trading Harris? For me if another team offered a difference maker because i consider Harris a difference maker.

• Hanna is doing better as a blocking TE. Can get in there and hold up.

• Jakar Hamliton is a candidate to play the slot on downs of 3rd and 6 or 7 as a guy who can cover the pass but still play the run and play 1 LBer.

• Change to the PS elidgibility from 3 games to 6. You can now sign 2 players and have less then 2 yrs off the street with 2 yrs of seasons of FA credit.

So the DT spot is set? Who is it, Hayden and Coleman?

Wilber isn't moving to end, he's just getting snaps there because he's shown at least some pass rush ability, he might be able to come in on nickel, or be a SAM that can be used as a pass rushing piece. This is the preseason, this is where you find that stuff out.

I like the PS idea.

No wonder we suck. We are turning our players into bunch of jack of all trade and master of none type of players.

I guess it's part of the process.

Well, in an interview, Durant did say that JG demands that all his players know multiple positions. He said he majored at MIKE, but minored in WILL/SAM. So, the transition is easier that way. Guessing the same pertains to Carter and Hitchens.

Trade Harris? ? What are they nuts! Why would they even ask that question. He has personally won us a handful of games by himself!

wonder how bruce carter will look as a strong side linebacker. But hearing him getting glued to blocks is not a good thing as a strong side backer.

Never been a fan of moving players around. Maybe a few, if they are bubble guys, but good atheletes. Otherwise, leave them be,, lt them learn. They preach consistency, but yet they don't practice it.

Its not suprising, because they have been doing this since Lawrence went down. Its just people dont like to accept things until media talks about it.

Also, wilber played some downs at RE last year during the season

• Going to be a hot humid ugly day for Miami game.

• Sterlin Moore said he came back too early and retweek his injury.
He's going to end up getting cut if he can get back on the field.

• Broaddus: Looks like Dallas is going in the direction of Tyler Patmon in the slot for week 1 if Moore isnt ready to go. BW Webb is not getting the snaps in the slot. Patmon is.
Webb played in the slot when Scandrick exited the Ravens games and looked OK.

• Ro McClain thigh wrapped up after practice. Big cramps. So theres no need to question he was injured. his question is, reliability.
It's to be expected that a guy he would need some days off while he gets into football condition.

• Carter started working at the SAM spot today and Durant at the WILL. Hitchen's got snaps at the MIKE with McClain out.
IMO, if McClain plays it seems like a done deal with Durant at the Will and McClain at the Mike.

• Biggest question on defense is MLB and RDE.
For me it's the Nickel LB spots.

• Wilber starting to take snaps at RDE.
He's been doing this for most of training camp. As the SLB he would like be off the field in the Nickel which was 61% of the snaps last season. That gives him plenty of time to play at DE and still be the SLB.

• You're going to see MIncey at RDE, but they are going to play Wilber with his hand on the ground. Get him more work.

• Wilber a yr later is stronger, and the good thing about Wilber playing the SAM is he plays with his hands, and that will only improve his game now playing more RDE.
Wilber looks quicker to me. My guess is that he bulked up to play DE full time at the beginning of last season, but that it slowed him down.

• Team likes the way Hitchens runs, and we could see him in the nickle package with Carter.
I expect Durant to be 1 of the Nickel LBs. The other one is a big question mark.

• The key to this numbers game in spots on the roster comes to the availability of Anthony Spencer. If he's going to be ready by week 2 then the team could carry him. If not then probably a PUP guy.
I just don't see the point in activating him. He only has to miss the first 6 weeks if they keep him on the PUP. That should give him time to be closer to 100%. Why lose a young player to keep a guy that is unlikely to play much for the first few weeks of the season.

• Tony Romo's day off was a scheduled day off.

• MIckey: talking to Romo i feel he will play more then 2 series. Weather could dictate how much he plays though.

• Change of day off will now be Monday off.
Makes more sense to me.

• Broaddus: would you consider trading Harris? For me if another team offered a difference maker because i consider Harris a difference maker.
He the primary returner and would bring much in a trade. He's very limited as a receiver.

• Hanna is doing better as a blocking TE. Can get in there and hold up.

• Jakar Hamliton is a candidate to play the slot on downs of 3rd and 6 or 7 as a guy who can cover the pass but still play the run and play 1 LBer.
Are they saying that he would be the slot CB role or the 2nd LB in the Nickel?

• Change to the PS elidgibility from 3 games to 6. You can now sign 2 players and have less then 2 yrs off the street with 2 yrs of seasons of FA credit.
A player cannot participate on the practice squad for more than three seasons; he is eligible for a third season only if the team has at least 53 players on its active/inactive list for the duration of that player's employment, or have no prior accrued seasons in the NFL (an accrued season is six or more games on the active roster); or if he has accrued a year of NFL experience on a club's 53-man active roster. If the player was on the active list for fewer than 9 games during their "only Accrued Season(s)", he maintains his eligibility for the practice squad.

My interpretation: If a player is on the 53 for more than 6 games then he has accrued a year of NFL experience. If the player is on the 46 man game day roster less than 9 games, then he is still eligible for the PS.

I don't know where the 3 games comes into play. Maybe they're saying that the 6 games will change to 3?

He was a RDE in the 2013 training camp and played RDE at the beginning of the Season. I think he even starter 2 games there when Ware was out. They moved him to SLB about mid-season.

I prefer this also, at this point in camp players need to start locking down spots to prepare for the season.

That's right. If i remember correctly the reports were that he was doing well at SLB toward the end of the season and looked like a natural fit. And they would not have known that had they not given it a try. I dont have any problem with the team moving guys around to test out their skill sets.

This can be overwhelming for a player and why there is some resistance to this "average @ everything but not specifically good @ anything" mentality. Talent is the primary reason for this. It would be one thing if the team looked disciplined, mature, and ready to take on such responsibilities in terms of knowing the ins/outs of every position. It is looking like Carter @ MLB was the way to go initially (3-4) and wouldn't surprise me if he excelled there even in the 4-3. Crawford has been another example. Martin can handle it but he is another. If there was solid talent on this team that allowed coaches to pen starters instead of penciling them, we wouldn't see all this shifting of positions involving players and their responsibilities. I would think this applies more to the D than the O admittedly.

So the Cowboys are running the Tampa 2 defense right?

In all the successful Tampa 2 defenses I've seen over the years there has always been uber-athletic LBs who were able to run DEEP down the seem with slots WRs, TEs, etc. I am talking the Brian Urlachers, Derrick Brooks, and the young version of London Fletcher with the Rams.

Who in the currently projected set of starting LBs are going to be the guys who are able to do this?
