• Martez Wilson cut, Cowboys were concerned because he had a little vertibrae problem. But didnt like his lack of rush from DE.

• JC Copeland never got an oppurtunity. Clutts playing ST might be the deciding factor.

• Broaddus: talked to buddy in NE and said Kelly and Smith are done.

• Ryan Williams making it hard to cut him.

• If you are going to be held on your word, keeping the best players. How can you justify not keeping Williams or Patmon? Numbers game.

• Murray just looks like a better 1 back runner. No fullback.

• Its frustrating that we are talking bout battles for the 4th RB and if you can keep a 6th WR. Worry about the defense first.

• Claiborne was ready and couldve played but coaches held him out of Miami game. If it was reg season he wouldve played.

• Lawrence injury hurts more then Lee

• Hitchens problem is he doesnt finish his tackles.

• Cowboys want somebody other than Durant to play MIKE so they can slide him over to WILL and Carter to SAM and Wilber move over to RDE on rushing days.

• Seems Dallas is scared to name McClain starting MIKE

• Dallas OL didnt handle the blitz up the middle vs Miami. That more then DE play was the cause of sacks on Romo.

• Dallas 4rd down defense was good MIA was 2-7 on 3rd down.

• Carter just looks very comfortable playing the SAM in the flat.

.

Wow disagree with that. Lee is the only defender we have seen play who is an elite talent. Lawerence may turn into a good player but the Lee injury was a killer.

Who needs a linebacker who tackles. Overrated if you ask me.

So, concerned about a "little vertebrae problem" but a players with prolonged injury histories/bleak prospects do not bother them. Okay then.

Not questioning the release, as I was never impressed by the player.

Just trying to make sense of our philosophy. They seem to invest more hope and patience based on the dollar signs and the imagined mental capital and how much was invested.

• JC Copeland never got an oppurtunity. Clutts playing ST might be the deciding factor.

I also think he was a poor fit to begin with considering what our expectations are for the position. I would just put him on the PS, fatten him up and see if he can grow into a lineman.

• Ryan Williams making it hard to cut him.

He has already made it asinine to cut him. The question is if we can come up with a foolish enough and trivial reason to do so.

• Seems Dallas is scared to name McClain starting MIKE

I cannot say I blame them, his conditioning seems to be the biggest problem. That and he could quit at any time.
• Dallas OL didnt handle the blitz up the middle vs Miami. That more then DE play was the cause of sacks on Romo.

Not going to disagree. Martin had a bad showing. Leary and Bernadeau looked lost. Disappointing, but entirely fixable.

• Carter just looks very comfortable playing the SAM in the flat.

He probably likes the fact there is a lot less mental responsibility. Playing the Al Singleton/Shelton Quarles role might be the best thing for him. Sad to see his physical talent wasted, but if he cannot handle the weakside, then this is the last resort.

Thanks for posting, never get a chance to listen to the broadcasts.

Stuff like this is what makes me think no one is really in charge. Same thing every year then they are signing a fullback after game 5 and saying Murray runs better with a FB. Which is it Coach? The smoke and mirrors is just plain old.

It is more like, we cannot afford to invest in a real fullback, so we will continue this dialogue.

I seem to recall Murray himself say he prefers the FB back in the salad days of Fiammetta.

Lee isn't an elite talent. He's an elite teammate and leader who has success because of his preparation, not his talent level.

I need to go back and watch Carter as a SAM.

He did look a lot more comfortable at SAM, to me. That's a win, but we need somebody other than Durant to step up at WIL or Mike.

I completely disagree with that assessment, too. Lee's the one legitimate disruptive player we have on defense. Until Lawrence can approach that level of play, it's not even a question.

We did have fewer options at RE, though.

I'm listening to today's Talkin' Cowboys and they just brought up a fun story about Dez Bryant and Tyler Patmon.

A reporter saw a game ball in Dez's locker and asked about it.

Bryant said, "it's for my man."

"Who's your man?"

"Patmon!"

"What's the deal?"

Dez told the reporter that he spoke with Patmon before the game and told the CB to get him one (interception).

"And he got me one, so I told him to get me another one. And he went and got me another one!"

Okay, I see where you are going. But I will leave it to those dudes who have gone to medical school over mere fans of the game. Just sayin'.

Ryan Williams should be our RB2, but for some reason Dunbar has become the pet cat. Never in my life have I seen a UDFA RB who has yet to see meaningful NFL action be hyped and guaranteed a roster spot like he has been. The guy didn't play much at all this preseason because they feel they have to protect him from injury. Ludicrous.

Exactly. The further irony is that the team will talk themselves into keeping 4 RB, no FB and then run the ball only 30% claiming that they don't have a FB to effectively run the ball. It is really a circular dysfunctional mess.

That's a great story. I'd heard it, but thought it was tongue-in-cheek the first time. :)
