● Mickey Talks about Dallas previous owners were going to fire Landry and hire Jimmy. Tex thought landry was going to announce his retirement in his PC the beginning of Feb. But took Tex by suprised by Landry talking about a 3 yr plan to get Dallas back to winning.

Superbowl in '88 Jimmy was a guest of Gil Brandt.

● Concern on not hearing about any Ware deal?
Think it has been more about public posturing. Talking about it in media for public perception. Most likely a reduction in cap number will be made at some point.

● Cowboys meeting with Manziel
Cowboys just looking at all angles because you dont know whats going to happen in draft.

● Romo health?
Rehabbing well, impressions from coaches and medical staff is that its progressing well, and will be ready come workouts.

● Broaddus: I dont think Dallas would take Pryor

● Donald fits very few teams 6' 288lbs.

● Hageman, listening to his interview, he makes you feel like he doesnt like playing football.

● Broaddus favorite DT is Easley, but ACLs will affect his draft status

i'm having trouble listening to that show these last couple weeks with Ed hosting it. might be the most annoying person there since Ellis...and i'd prefer Josh being back.

he's involved in WAY too many shows now and he already makes the draft show almost unbearable to listen to

He also ruined the multimedia center.

Yea, the show is pretty boring now that the season is over with and they are just filling time basically.

also, since i think he says he really doesn't follow college football anymore, i just wonder how much game tape he has seen on the DT's to say Easley is his favorite

Interesting historical tidbits I had not heard before. Sounds Like Jimmy was on the Cowboys' FO radar before Jones bought the team. Is that where Jerry got the idea? Or because he knew Johnson from their college playing days?

at that time it was the starting of the period where the hot college coaches were being looked at as regards NFL coaches. So it is not a surprise that they might have been looking at Jimmy.

seriously,I think Trade down is the only option if Donald is gone since they dont like either safeties ,i feel its way too early for Martin.

If I recall, the organization wanted to bring Jimmy in as a Coordinator. The plan was to bring him along as the possible hire apparent but everything changed when Jerry bought the team.

Actually the way Mickey was telling the story he was being looked at to be HC. The Cowboys organization wanted Landry to announce his retirement in that Early Feb press conference.

Mickey is going to write a piece on this topic this week. Looking forward to reading it

Jimmy Johnson definitely mentioned in his book, Turning the Thing Around, that Tex Schramm talked to him about replacing Tom Landry as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys prior to Jerry Jones buying the team.

I think Donald will be there and be selected but if not, I think Mosley and Zac Martin will be chosen in that order depending on which is still available. Seems very possible teams in top 5-7 won't be convinced about the QBs and if so, will make the middle of the 1st round very interesting. No QB seems to be sparking any excitement.
