• Tyron Cowboy for life

• Told there is a deal on the table for Dez, its a matter if he want to sign it right now.

• NFL in works with Direct TV, so expect the Salary cap to go even higher.

• Once Dez is signed what about Murray? Is there money for him?

The money is there. If they want him he will be signed. Dallas had figured out how to walk the line with the cap and still do what they want.

Day of the Rb is over, wont see Murray or any RB break the bank anymore.

Dallas learned its lesson with Marion Barber, wont do it again.

• Not much talk about Free, how is he doing?

Free had been very steady. has played with nice technique.

• Resign Free? You have to see if the plan is to kick Martin outside at RT.

• Romo approach is the right one. Limit the risk of injury. Romo hasnt shown any sign of struggling to throw any types of passes. He's fine

• Lawrence injury happened with his cheat sticking and him rolling over on it.

Its a big blow, because Lawrence was going to start. But the team is better prepared this yr to handle injuries.

• If Mincey isnt the guy watch for Selvie to move over to the right side. And Crawford playing the left side.

• The flexibility of Wilber also isnt a bad option.

• What UDFA is having the best TC. Davin Coleman, by far.

• Dallas backup OL is a concern. Weems and Parnell in particular.

I agree completely on the backup tackle situation. I don't like what hasn't appeared upon a surface view at that position. Time to see real return in those investments...or move on down the road.

Being chained to a contract with Doug Free is not the direction to return to now.

Thanks for the recap, I would not sign Free, Im not a Free basher, I just think you look to address the RT position in the draft and leave Martin inside at guard. Also would not brerak the bank on Murray, you come up with a number and see if he takes it, if not see what he can get in FA and see if you are willing to match.

Thanks for the recap LM this is good stuff!

Hope a deal gets done w/Dez very soon. Nice to have a little cap management around here.
Romo's fine? So much for all the hand wringing.
The news on Coleman is fantastic. He was my #1UDFA pick to make the final 53.
The backup OL news confuses me. All I keep reading is how Parnell just needs more playing time. We'll see in preseason I suppose.

Coleman was receiving very high press a month before the draft...and a link with a view from the Cowboys. Could be an improved version of Jay Ratliff. But with staying power.

I would not pay any RB that was not at the level of AP anything close to $5 million a year.

The current market for productions on par with Murray are trending down over the past three seasons, lol.

Interesting things.

Good to hear about Coleman. We need him or Bishop to exceed expectations and help out the interior push. If they can be decent nickel players, Crawford can be stuck at LDE and let him concentrate on one thing instead of him flip flopping like they seem to have him doing right now.

The OL thing is not surprising. But I thought it was a given around here that Parnell was good enough to take over for Free. According to the Talking Cowboys crew, apparently not.

Yeah it seemed the prevailing word was that If not for parnell getting injured last year in camp he may have won the RT battle over Free.

I don't know if there was truth in that or not.

Whether it was true or not at that time, at this time the prevailing word is that both he and weems are struggling.

I also find it curious that so far I have not heard anything about Z.Martin getting some 2nd or third team reps at RT. We hear of him getting 2nd or 3rd team reps at OC. I don't know if they just don't view him as a possible RT candidate (backup or future starter) right now and do not want to put too much on his plate right now. Or if they just want to see him as an inside player.

yes about Coleman we need a back up 3 tech in the worst way
Ifr Bishop can show we'd be looking OK this season
I'd be a little surprised if we don't grab a DE early next draft

Wow pretty low. I was thinking more of 5 years 25 mill.

No way...at his age and the ceiling for RB's at about 27 or 28, you don't pay them big money and 9mil for 3 is about
all he can get with his injury history. If his agent gets him more then let him walk. He can be found in next years
draft for lots less money and less wear & tear. Marion Barber set a bad example that the Cowboys will not allow
to happen again...At least I hope!!!

I think that they are keeping it simple for him and trying to get him accustomed to playing inside since his whole career at Notre Dame was pretty much outside.

Having him take C reps is probably to help him understand the protection schemes just as much as a real idea to put him there in an emergency. Playing center a little can go a long ways to understanding all the mechanics that go along with the interior roles.

They may feel pretty good about his prospects to go outside as he is just switching sides, not learning a new function from scratch.

I posted previously that I wouldn't be shocked if Parnell were cut at the end of training camp.

The guy seems to have regressed.

I would be shocked if he gets cut. Not really because he is that great, but we really do not have a lot of options to replace him. I do not think Wetzel or Darius Morris are legitimate options.

I was thinking that if there wasn't much difference between he and Weems, that they would keep the less expensive option.
