You feel sorry for Scandrick but you have to move on.

Nate Newton: Next man up, thats the way i been trained.

Claiborne will probably be the RCB.

Newton: if the guys at the front(DL) handle thier business, the guys in the back(DB) will be fine. The best coverage on defense is a QB on his back.

Talking to coaches Dallas wants to play its dime in even some 3 wr sets. Patmon and Jones playing the slot with Jones playing on the TE

Who has had the best camp and who left something to be desired?
Rob: Beasley, and the running game because we havent been able to see them run so far.
Nate: Hardy has been a delight to watch, Weems and Wetzel left alot to be desired
Mickey: Gregory, and as usual doesnt say anything negative.

Nate on question about the DL being the key for the CBs
They dont need Mo to be Deion. But even Deion wasnt successful in Atlanta because he didnt have a passrush. He was primetime but he wasnt successful. Not until SF where they had a passrush. Or in Dallas where they had a passrush.

Rob: The more hes on the field the more confidence he gets. He just has to be able to stay on the field. He's a top 5 talent no doubt. Just has had bad luck with injuries. And hopefully they let him play to his strength and thats playing man, and not the zone.

Jack Crawford seems like he might be the backup 3tech to Tyrone Crawford. Looks lke a total different player from the start of camp.

When you Crawford on the move slanting he's awsome.

Brinkley seems to be a forgotten man. With Hitchens out they tried Wilber and Gakchar at MLB

Devin Street hurt his foot in 1 on 1s. Went back in and hurt it again.

at least he is consistent. Since so many praise Hayden for always showing up for the game despite not doing much we must praise Mickey for always doing the same thing.

In my opinion, we will see an uptick or greater increase in interceptions this season. We should have a better pass rush which should hurry more passes. Another plus in that area will be Sean Lee. Yes, he will be manning the weak side but it will also mean that he'll be aware of running backs dropping out into the flat to give their quarterbacks a fallback option. Lee has a nose for pass plays. The longer he is healthy and on the field, the more opportunities he will receive to pick off a pass or two--maybe even run one back for an easy six.

Not to get picky, however, Deion was a 3-time first team All-Pro in Atlanta.

I honestly don't think a pass rush really mattered. He was that good.

I haven't read much of Mickey in years but I do recall him having a lot of negative to say about Quincy Carter, even in his "acceptable" season.

Heard that, and I don't want to slow Nate's roll, but Deion was Deion back in ATL, too. I can't stand Deion Sanders, but he's not the example Nate should have used because that guy could cover, period.

Mickey usually toes the company line, but he has his guys he can't stand and is negative about.
He was always negative on Parnell. He is usually negative on Scandrick, basically because Scandrick is not nice to him.
He defends Claiborne to the point that it is hilarious. I think this year his focus will be on praising any Dallas RB and bashing Murray.

Mickey has plenty of negative things to say. Re: the SF game, for example, he defended McFadden, but blamed the OL for there being absolutely nowhere to run. He might defend the QB by blaming the defense for a loss, instead. He's a positive guy, in general, and not one to get carried away by emotion, but it's not like he wears blinders when it comes to the team. He's just not one to ever get insulting about a player not being good enough. Some people want to hear their talking heads badmouth players, and that's just not Mickey's bag.

He does tend to defend the organization in general, though. But that's ok with me, too, because it's a pretty good organization, overall.

It's time to get Nate on the game broadcasts in some capacity. He's obviously got the game knowledge but he has a great sense of humor that i believe will work on radio.

Yeah, I am not sure if Nate was trying to say that Atlanta wasn't successful even with Deion or what, but Primetime was the best CB in the game from the day he started to the day he won his last SB with the cowboys. While I am not a fan of Deion the personality, there is no denying his skill level, especially when he was with Atlanta.

Mo a top 5 talent?

Give me a break! I know they see alot more than I do and I know he has been injured alot of the time, but top 5 talents don't look as bad as he has looked when he has in fact been on the field.

Nate's pretty great, overall. He says some crazy stuff every now and then, but he's always interesting and you can learn a bit about how the game really works by listening to what he thinks is important.

I think he was just trying to make the good point that the coverage can make the DB. He just picked the wrong example. Those Deion/Rice matchups in the NFCW were pretty great, and Deion won more than his share of them. It was players like Irvin who gave Deion trouble more than any lack of a pass rush.
