Show me these "countless videos" of Mack. Even with Mack having a ton of help beside him, he had a whole 2 other sacks than Lawrence in 14 games - so, even if he played the other 2 games, he would have around 13-14 sacks.

And Chandler Jones is about on the level of Lawrence - they are JJ Watt's, but they are very good/great pass rushers and that is valuable. If you want to drive down the price of Lawrence, it will have to be with injury history and concerns going further and that is a legitimate gripe. However, you aren't getting a DE who has ranked within the top 5-10 defensive pass rushers in the league on the cheap otherwise, it just isn't going to happen. No matter how much you stomp, kick, and cry - pass rushers are too valuable in this league.

We have to sign him because we can't go into a season with taco, gregory, armstrong, and crawford as our defensive ends. No matter what you say about D Law he isn't a 20mil d lineman.

He could have held out last year, but as I recall he never so much as hinted at it. We have to remember that just because some high profile players have gotten a lot of attention for holding out, that doesn’t make it the norm

That is simply not true. The team had ample room to sign him to a long term deal if it chose. His 17M cap number was already accounted for and a long term deal would have only lowered it.

He is what the market says he is....

And as of right now, with the way the market is trending, he could easily get 20 mil and justify it with his play. Again, the only thing that will drive down his price is his injury history.

Name all the guys that get tripled teamed and still get sacks. I'm not saying it has never happened but not often enough to for that statement to mean anything. Lawrence vanishes because he is double and triple teamed and the other linemen then aren't beating their one on one match ups. Also of all the linemen Lawrence had the most tackles which goes with just not being a good pass rusher but also good against the run.

My you have a short memory. Last off season the Cowboys had to renegotiate 2 contracts to cover their new contracts. So don't go on with your "they had ample room" BS. Players and their agents are smarter and don't fall for lets back load with big salaries on long term contracts because the players often never see those big salaries so they want big money up front so again your claim they had ample room is pretty shallow.

Nope. You’re completely wrong as well.

Tank’s cap hit for 2018 was 17M. A long term deal would have included a lesser hit in 2018. Ergo, the team had more than enough cap room to cover a long term deal.

Also the team rolled over 11.7M in unused cap space this year.

So before you chide people for short memories, do the forum a favor and get your facts straight.

The 2 d lineman that are getting paid 20 million a year beat doubles consistently and triple teams from time to time

I already wrote about the rams game where he disapeared. If you dont believe me watch it again.

In 2017 he had 8 good games and then disappeared. This isnt only my opinion but was a major concern coming into 2018. People were watching him if he again would have a great start to the season but then would drop off. Well he did again. Injuries or not. This is a concern.

Like it or not sacks are a major measurement when you judge 4-3 DEs. And he does not deliver on a constant basis or when competition gets stiffer. As i said he is great in playing the run and has great hussle. But that isnt enough for the contract he wants.

Maliek collins played hurt the whole season. That should not be an excuse. Still i think he is a good player. But the point was you put it like DLaw plays with nobody beside him with at least some talent. And that in fact is not true. I gave you 2 examples. Of course we could have all pros at the DT position. And he would profit from their talent. But then the way he wants to get payed is that he should be the all pro that makes people around him better. I dont see that in him.

DLaw is a good LDE. Nothing really special. If he hadnt all the injury concerns id love to keep him if the price is ok. But with the problems he has i would never give him a longterm contract.

Did i miss something? Ah yes: I am not your boy. If you want to discuss something with me show some education.

Collins has never been a "pretty good" tackle. Never. Again, if he has been, show me the data where he has ever been good. I also asked you to back up that D-Law "disappeared" - I don't want rambling, I want in-depth statistics, I want video evidence. Provide it, boy.

A fair number would probably be $17m, $18m, $19m, $20m and $21M on a 5 year deal with three years of it guaranteed. No SB. There is no proration when you walk away after year 3 if you choose to do so.

Teams need to start getting away from SBs.

Playing with injuries year after year is not a selling point.
