Targets for 2nd Round

I think NT is where he ends up.
He is a big boy that will only get bigger.
He's gained a lot of weight the past year and failed to drop much of it in pre-workout stuff.
A lot of big OL Can drop 20-25 pounds but Tuitt who needed ot drop that much wasn't near that mark.

I expect he plays at 320-325 in the NFL.

I thought I read he is down 15 lbs going into the draft.

What?! Seriously...

He was 304 at the combine AND his pro day.

I can't say I know what he weighs this second.
Reports were he played at 290 last year, up near 310 this year.
Not being able to drop below 300 is a serious question mark for me.
Guys in the early 20s seldom ever lose weight without a lifestyle change.
NFL players almost universally put on weight if they are big guys who struggle in that area you are best off projecting that gain. --See Henry Melton for instance.

I really can't think of a serious big prospect who lost weight after the combine and played smaller for an NFL career.

Who I think will be available that I would like(in order):
Scott Crichton
Jeremiah Attaochu
Timmy Jernigan

If available I'd consider:
Marqise Lee

Who I'd be ok with but not thrilled with(in order):
Demarcus Lawrence
Will Sutton
Davante Adams

from other fan site mentioning an older poster from this site: SDogo... he used to work in scouting, still has ties in the business... his first round had the Boys looking at Anthony Barr, Aaron Donald, Zack Martin and Ryan Shazier, in that order... Martin was the only one left on the board at 16, and lo and behold, he was the pick... so here's what my buddy had to say about round 2:

*Cowboys wanted Ryan Shazier, it's no secret. Keep an eye out for BC | OLB |Kevin Pierre Lewis in day 3.

*ND | DT | Timmy Jernigan and Boise | DE | Demarcus Lawrence are the big 2 in Round 2 but a name no one has been discussing is Georgia Tech | OLB | Jeremiah Attaochu. Although a little shorter then Barr he projects to DE at the next level. His production and nasty attitude are hard to ignore. Cowboys are doing there homework on him.

*If the Cowboys stick to their board I'm told Auburn | RB | Tre Mason is very high on the board right now.

It's a sweet spot @ 47. .. Dallas took BPA today make it a run.

Lots of impact DLs still on the Draft Board.

Least we forget Louis Nix.

Like Nix too but not so sure Cowboys do. Hageman would be interesting but the plug and play player would be Su'a Filo.

There are some good players left. It may take a trade up to ensure they snag one of the last difference makers.

Just say NO to a receiver! Yes there appears to be some standout skills still left. Can you say DT in the second? Third round another DT or DE. Fourth round DT, DE, S. Fifth round DT, DE, S, OG, RB. Seventh round DT, DE, S, OG, T, FB, LB

PS

UDFA
QB, RB, R, TE, CB, QB, C

going to be a long insufferable 15 picks...
my list is only:
Demarcus Lawrence
Kony Ealy
Timmy Jernigan
Scott Crichton

Those are the names I'm looking at as well. The top of the second always kills me. All those players that you want usually get snatched up so quickly.

Personally I like A J McCarron. I would draft him and put him on the Aaron Rodgers plan. If they did not take him, I would take Logan Thomas in the 4th or 5th and put him on the same plan. The guy has a ton of talent and with a few years I think he could be a great QB.

Just take BPA. We don't have to take defense. The team is still years away from going anywhere, so just keep building with BPA. If BPA is another player on the Oline, then so be it.

Gotta get in front of Atlanta if we want Lawrence. Rumor is they like him a lot.

I think this board will go crazy if they select Mason.

Do you have Nix and Tuitt mixed up? Because Tuitt is way too tall to play NT, unless he hits 340 or something.

I still think a trade up using a 4th to get a pass rusher we need is not a bad move, how many 4th rders have we wasted in recent times?.Its a small price to pay for a starting RDE.

I know it seems like a luxury. But I would be just fine with Mason.

Difference maker.

Defense is awful. But I feel a lot better about our chances this year if our offense is superior. I like the approach of making your strengths stronger.
