In case anyone is wondering, it was just a short q&a about his approach to the NFL, his expectations, etc recorded earlier in the week.

Not much there.

But the guy seems really intense and driven. Pretty sharp mind. Has a good command of bland football platitudes and cliches beyond his years.

File tape showed him catching the ball and cutting well...looks like Keith Davis out there running around in #29. Hope he doesn't get shot though.

Maybe we got a 'steal'. Same round as the Barbarian. Sounds like he will stick at the very least.

The blessing with Tashard Choice is that he can ease his way into the NFL.

That is, of course, assuming Barber will not get injured.

Currently though, he will not be forced into action early. Any contribution Dallas gets from him this season will be gravy.

Why do you think he will be any less forced into action early than Felix Jones will be? Both are rookies.

I think both will have jobs to do early. And Choice will probably be a better pass blocker than Jones at first. the quarterback has to be protected even when Barber is not on the field.

The way I see it Angus, is that Choice is a more similar runner to Barber. He is more apt to run through a wall than run around one. Plus, neither has that true, scary breakaway speed. So I think Tashard is primed to be Marion Barber's apprentice. There is certainly nothing wrong with that.

Felix is the man to replace Julius. For Julius to have been successful last season, he needed to hit the hole and make people miss. In my book, on a scale from 1 to 10, he only rated about a 2.5 at best (and that is a failure).

It was the running game that really faultered for the Cowboys last season. Every time Julius was in the game, it was "pins and needles" most Cowboy fans. He just could not be trusted because he either:

1. could not find the hole (run to darkness), or

2. got tackled by the first guy.

So the addition of Felix here is the key. He has to come out in training camp and prove that he can do what Julius failed at.

However, Tashard will get some opportunities, but just not as early and often as Felix.

Tashard Choice has upgraded Tyson Thompson's spot on the roster.

Yes, Felix Jones replaces Julious Jones insofar as as J. Jones was supposed to be a breakaway back, but I think you are being unimaginative.

The two back system has come to be the rage, but I anticipate that Redball Garrett and Jerry Jones didn't select Choice with the fourth pick just to play special teams. And I doubt they intend to run Felix Jones into the ground himself. He will have kick return duties, too. I think both will be used extensively in order, primarily, to keep Barber fresh for the late going when he is most effective. Enormously so. (It's the only reason he is worth 45M.)

F. Jones has great speed, but he has little experience blocking in the backfield, I understand, nor in catching passes. Choice, I understand, does. In order to keep Barber fresh, he must rest a goodly amount of time in early quarters, but Romo needs to be protected at all times.

Garrett will be innovative. Think of the backs as the Three Amigos who can be used interchangeably at times, keeping all of them fresh not only for the late periods of a game but for the late games of the season. I think that is how they will be used.

As long as the O line gets coached by Houk to be better run blockers.

Hopefully we get a number of blowout wins and get to see him in action a lot in garbage time.

Hopefully, the Boys have drastically improved the RB position from last year.

On paper, anyway, it's an definite improvement:

1st rounder Jones > 2nd rounder Jones
4th rounder Choice > FA Thompson
4th rounder Barber = same

So, if these guys can play to their selections, we're looking good for the next few years.

I am all for the trio of backs, Angus.

I am just not sure how often he will get the ball.
