To be fair, I disagree with virtually everything you said.
you're entitled to your opinion. I just don't get how anyone can look forward to the weakest aspect of this team.

Baby Hawk is adorable. Seems like one of those happy all the time babies.
Have you ever heard a tackle be referred to as "finesse"?
I'm starting to like the idea of a lineup of Smith-Leary-Fred-Arkin-Free.
Alex Albright running with the ones..
With Justin Durant getting a day off from practice Tuesday, Ernie Sims took some snaps at strongside linebacker and continued to make plays.
He stopped running back DeMarco Murray on a first-down run and later was able to affect a screen pass to Lance Dunbar by getting pressure on quarterback Kyle Orton.
So far through camp, Sims has been impressive, coming up with a big hit every day.
I wonder whether I underestimated linebacker Ernie Sims. On my final 53-man roster projection leading up to training camp, I did not have Sims on the final list. I thought he would lose out to Brandon Magee. Sims has gotten off to a really good start. He did a nice job filling in last season after Sean Lee got hurt, all the while playing a foreign 3-4 defense. He started six of his 10 games, and finished with 42 tackles and a sack. Now back to his more comfortable 4-3, Sims has been hitting everything that moves. He’s done a nice job in pass coverage and he can play special teams. More important, he will not cost a lot against the cap. Sims is moving better than he did last year, which is probably a product of having a complete offseason of training.
Archer says..."With Durant sitting out Alex Albright is with the starters."
So I guess Durant is the actual starter with AA running second team.
But wait...
Archer later says... "Ernie Sims with 1s now. Good stop on Murray"
Archer thought Sims looked so good playing with the 1's, that after yesterday's practice he felt compelled to write an article on Sims titled, "Ernie Sims is a Hit"
In it, Archer says:

A few days ago, Archer wrote this about Sims:

You're reading too much into it.. Albright with the ones, man!
Haha, seriously though, yes i realize that he and Sims split reps with the ones because Durant was out, but hey.. he's still getting time with the ones over Magee and Holloman. Sims could be a beast.
I like Sims' speed. I'm just glad we have some depth and competition.
And they remember the Sept. 13, 2003, moment now referred to simply as The Hit.
"You have three degrees of hits," explains Bowden, to set the scene. "You have the one where the guy has to go off the field. Then you have 'carry-offs.' Then you have 'refusals to return.' This was a 'refusal to return.' "
In the semidarkness of the defensive coaches' meeting room, Steele aims a red laser pointer at the big screen where No. 34-Sims-is positioned on FSU's kickoff return team. Georgia Tech kicks off … Reis moves forward, tracking the ball … Sims vectors toward him … and then … Reis is airborne, his helmet cartwheeling out of the frame.
"See those two white things spinning in the air?" says Steele. "Ernie knocked the kid's ear pads out."
This story appears in the Aug. 8, 2011 issue of ESPN The Magazine.
YOU PROBABLY DON'T KNOW the man with the large jaw, but Adrian Peterson does. When we asked our guest editor in chief which opposing player he hates facing most, a guy who deserves more pub, Ernie Sims was the first name he gave. "He's like the Tasmanian Devil," says Peterson, who faced Sims twice a year when both were in the NFC North. "He's extremely athletic, he's in on every play and he's a huge hitter."
If that praise comes as a surprise, blame Detroit. In Sims' first three years, the 2006 first-rounder led the NFC with 370 tackles. He did it playing weakside linebacker (or "Will"), a position known for smaller 'backers who specialize in pass coverage. But the Lions also won just 10 games in that stretch. With that kind of futility comes anonymity, even after Sims was traded to Philadelphia last April.
Colleagues, though, have known Sims as a streaking game-film blur for the past five years. He earned his rep by being one of the league's best linebackers at avoiding congestion, spotting the ball and then tracking down runners. "He has to be one of the most acrobatic players in the league," says Lions running back Kevin Smith. "Sideline to sideline, he's a beast. You can size him up all you want, but if he wants contact, he'll find it. And he hits like a freight train." Adds Eagles center Jamaal Jackson, "Ernie's the fastest linebacker I've ever seen."
Here is the piece where A Peterson calls Sims a Tasmanian Devil, lol.
Not bad for what we're paying him...

I guess I have a decent eye for on field speed. Or I read his 40 somewhere.
The guy is fast and quick as hell.
I remember when he came out in the draft... It was right around the time when Dallas was switching over to a 34 defense, so I knew there was no way in Hades that he was going to end up in Dallas, but I absolutely loved his game and his big striking ability. LB's like him, Lavonte David, Justin Durant, etc. are a big reason why I was never really a fan of moving away from a 43 defense. I love fast, uber athletic, big hitting LB's.
Now, even though he is only 27, Sims has matured and become much more a student of the game. He still has his ridiculous athleticism, but now he studies and works at his craft. Even as much of a mis-match as he was in last year's defense, he still played very well for us. In Kiffin's defense, he is a spot-on perfect match and as long as his concussion problems don't start surfacing, he should get every opportunity to make an impact for us this year.
I was enamored by the guy last year. He did reasonably well last year but he looked a little tentative at times. My guess is he didn't know the defense well enough which is understandable. I'm loving what I'm hearing about some of these guys. He and Durant should push each other.
Yeah, they should have a pretty good battle in camp for SOLB... and before RoyTheHammer gets upset, I will say Albright has a shot too.
I agree and the kicker is Free is having a very good camp. I don't like bad play from any player but if a guy is showing he is turning things around and improving then what is the beef? If Free is doing the job great but this non sense of pet cats people have or not liking a guy based on past performace while overlooking current improvement is just silly
I have a question...How do you know Free has turned it around? The last 14-16 games I seem him play in, he was the worst player on the field. He literally should have been cut before getting undressed in a few of those games. He hasn't done anything to prove otherwise since we last seen him. Two weeks of camp, one which was without pads, has done nothing for me to change my opinion of him. If he plays better and does not help this team lose games, like he did last year, then I will change my opinion. I don't dislike him because of who he is, I dislike him because he's horrible!!! He's slow, he's week (fineness player sorry,) and he's dumb. Again, this is all based totally on his game time performances, not because of who he is or because I have a pet cat. I wish I did, but I see nobody with a ton of potential waiting to take his spot.
