I agree, but if we're going with a one dimensional player, may as well use a 6th lineman. For plays where we don't want to scream run, Escobar will be fine

Wasn't there serious consideration of him making the team at one point?

He was available at any time while on their PS if they wanted to sign him to the 53.
He would not make a huge difference if he was signed.
He was only slightly better than Gathers IMO.
But I wouldn't mind him on our PS.

the difference is if you sign him from the practice squad he has to go to your active roster, if he is free to sign he can sign with our practice squad.
