Just how good are the Boys team doctors? First Newman and now Glenn - sounds like they did not do their jobs well. And in the last few years some other problems as well. Didn't they mess up the initial diagnosis on AL Johnson when he was a rookie? Just getting the feeling that maybe we do not exactly have the best.

Maybe we need to upgrade to "Elite Health Co"

Just some Madden humor

I think part of the problem is that they are rushed to come to some sort of diagnosis quickly because they need to determine the players status so they can plan accordingly. Most times after an injury, the affected area is swollen making diagnosis very difficult. That's why most times they will wait for the swelling to go down before going in to check things out.

Dear Jimmy,

You were always injured, that's why I didn't want to pay you for 1993

Signed,
Jerry

Nors, do you even know the story behind the Jimmy Smith release? You do also realize that Philly cut him too right?

and for the record, Smith himself says he probably would have never developed as a player had he not been released twice...says he didnt take things seriously enough

and finally, the team doctors had nothing to do with releasing Jimmy Smith

I think he is referring to the emergency appendectomy that he almost died from, which I don't even know if team doctors were the ones that did it. In any case, infection is very common in that type of procedure, either in the surgical opening itself or from abscesses that form afterward.

The whole reason he didn't stay with the Cowboys is because Jones placed him on nonfootball related IR, which meant he wouldn't jave to pay Jimmy for the 1993 season. This was overturned so Jerry told Jimmy either take a paycut or be waived. The rest is history.

Yeagh, Dallas doctors botched a call on Jimmy Smiths appendix. Put him in a car and told him to go to hospital and he got lost and damn near died when it burst. Wanna mulligan?

Been 14 or so years but thats my remembrance. Cost him the season and a littany of issues with Dallas over incident.
