But getting a deal done as smoothly as they did previously with tackle Tyron Smith and center Travis Frederick might no be in the offing.

Martin doesn’t appear interested giving the Cowboys a home town discount with a friendly-deal and doesn’t plan to get involved in the negotiations on a personal basis.

“I love being a Cowboy,” Martin said. “But I will let my agents handle it. They will let me know when it’s time to something.”

While it would be nice, can't blame him. You get basically one shot at a huge payday/guarantees. Most guys don't play out their contracts due to various reasons(in and out of their control) and never see the full amount on those deals.

Dude has been a top guard since day 1. Besides, he'll be the top paid for a year or two, till the next great guard on a rookie contract is up for a payday then he'll be seen a "steal"

won't be easy. Jones has a good relationship with Condon and Gonser who represent Martin. However they also represent Kevin Zeitler so I would expect they will be looking for a similar deal for Zack

Actually it is pretty easy. Zeitler has established the market. Its 12 mill a year

While we have a great deal on Dak and Zeke, we can afford to pay the olineman. We also don't have a big contract on the Dline or in the secondary. We should be fine putting money towards the Oline right now.

This man deserves to get paid top dollar. I would guess 12.5 - 13mil per season and the hope for Dallas is that they
can sign him up for 5 seasons + 6yr option. Think 65 to 75mil with 35mil guaranteed and 20mil signing bonus.
Man is all pro and pro bowl every year. Deserves everything he can squeeze out of Jerry.

Looking at Zeitler's contract it could be something like this:

2017 $2.853390
2018 $9.341

5 yr $60 million ($12 yr) Extension -- At least $12 million SB and $23 million guaranteed at signing ($31.5 million guaranteed by 2018)
To the Cowboys it would be 7 yrs for $72.19439 ($10.31348 yr) counting the two years currently.
