At least we are +1 in the turnover differential. Hopefully we can get some more on Sunday, and jump to like +3 or +4.

We must stop these BONEHEADED PENALTIES!!!!!

4th in Defense is a joke, our 3rd down % must suck.

This is my defense for Parcells.

The coaches have put these guys in a position to win. If the players would just make routine plays that they should've been making since highschool we'd be 7-1 right now.

Everyone wants to put this on Parcells but its faaaaaaar from his fault.

In the power rankings were still ahead of the Commanders, i think thats when you know you suck. You beat a team and their still a few spots ahead of you.

Everyone scores before third down.

We're No. 9 in defensive points allowed. And we'd be a lot higher if not for offensive turnovers deep in our own territory.

I'd like that ranking reflected in more games. Rolling teams like Tennessee, Washington, Houston, and Carolina (the best of which - Washington - is ranked 17th in scoring offense at 20.3 ppg) and then letting teams like NY and Philly and Jax roll up on us isn't a huge deal to me. If we were holding all these teams well below their averages, that's one thing. Right now, we're living alot off our stats against terrible offenses, defensively speaking. We've been decent. Granted, the offense didn't help us with Bledsoe in there, I just had higher expectations.

I imagine that Romo's game against the giants had a lot to do with this.:banghead:

About what....24 points surrendered after Bledsoe's costly turnovers? Agreed, he is a terrible part of what the problem was. He had some ground to make up to catch up to Watkins, but fortunately Parcells pulled those plugs.

Those turnovers deep in our territory (as well as most of the points scored against our offense and special teams) have come against the three teams you mentioned -- Jacksonville, the Giants and the Eagles. Jacksonville's offense scored 24 points -- and 14 of that came when they started inside our 40 after turnovers. The Giants' offense scored 27, and seven of that came when they started inside our 15 after turnovers. The Eagles' offense scored 31, and 10 of that came when they started inside our 15 after turnovers.

Eliminate those turnovers and the interceptions returned for touchdowns, and we would have held all three of them below their average point total.

And I love how Carolina is now a "terrible" offense because we shut them down. They had been averaging 20.8 points per game since Steve Smith returned, which would put them in the top half of the league.

Just as much as Bledsoe's game against Philly.

The defense has been good. Given the talent, picks and money spent on that side of the ball, I'm expecting more than good, and they're just not there yet. Your initial post touted a ranking of 9 in points per game. It is simply worth noting that the ranking is skewed due to great showings against mediocre to terrible offenses. It's also skewed due to the turnovers, that can't be denied. But it is what it is. Good. Not great.
