According to FSN Pro Football Preview.

He'll stay here as he will be the next coach of the Dallas Cowboys...

Why play the lounge when you can play the big room...

Plus the fans in Dallas have always like Garret since he has been a Cowboy Player:D

Could you image the script if he became a HOF level type of coach for the Boys

Why?

Because he MAY get the HC job here in the future?

You don't get many shots at HC. Jerry didn't have enough faith in him to give him the head job this off-season. It would be stoopid for Garrett to pass up a HC job somewhere else.

If anything Jerry is going to go Tony Banks on Wade.

If Wade has success I don't expect him to be fired. I think Jason has an understanding that Jerry has plans for the future that involves Jason as the HC that Jason will be stay around.

As I have said for several months now, if the Cowboys win big this season they will be faced with a somewhat complicated dilemma between Phillips & Garrett.

When push comes to shove I don't believe Jerry will let Jason walk. I do think its naive to expect Garrett to simply wait patiently in Dallas as OC if he has other teams who want him as HC. If that HC offer comes, or at least an inquiry for a HC interview, Jerry will at a minimum back up the financial truck for Jason. To not do so risks losing the guy.

Its not unlike what SD faced when Brees became eligible for free agency. Here was their QB who led them back into contention but their future (Philip Rivers) was already waiting in the wings. It actually worked out a bit easier when Brees hurt his shoulder so at least SD could be comforted by the fact that Brees might be damaged goods as they watched him walk out the door.

For Dallas, the silver lining I guess, is that Wade is getting up there in years.

This of course is all WAY premature as I have been told many times, but it could be a dilemma as early as December of this year.

Would seem odd for Jerry to let him walk after he brought him in before the HC was even hired. But then again anything Jerry does anymore doesn't surprise me.....
