Titans stink up new stadium

ARLINGTON, Texas — When the highlight of your game is your punter kicking a ball off a gigantic video board, you know it wasn’t much of an effort. That was the case for the Titans in their 30-10 loss to the Cowboys here on Friday night.
Punter A.J. Trapasso made his way into the spotlight again, not for a fake punt but a high one. He hit the video board in Cowboys Stadium, upsetting Coach Jeff Fisher and causing Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to get a little defensive.
Yet while the Cowboys might have a flaw in their billion-dollar stadium, you know what they say about casting stones. Because on Friday night, the Titans had plenty flaws of their own.
Offensively they couldn’t move the ball. They looked out of sync, there were too many three-and-outs, and overall it was just plain ugly. The touchdown pass from Kerry Collins to receiver Justin Gage was nice, and rookie running back Javon Ringer looked good again, but that was about it.
On defense the Titans missed tackles and couldn’t come up with any stops. The Cowboys had no trouble moving up and down the field.
Yes, it was just a preseason game. But the Titans are running out of time to clean up some of their problems. The regular season is now less than three weeks away.
