Tennessee Titans ideal trade target from the Dallas Cowboys
by Will Lomas 7 hours ago

Do the Tennessee Titans want to go after the big name or the small trade?
The Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys are similar in a lot of ways, so it makes sense that there are actually two trade targets that the teams could discuss.

One of the big similarities between the two teams is that the Dallas Cowboys are also facing a cap crunch nightmare at the end of this season.

The difference there is that the Titans actually have some people signed after next year but it really feels like a huge chunk of the starters on both sides of the ball for the Cowboys are up for grabs after this season.

According to OTC, the Cowboys have 14 players set to hit free agency after this year that played 40% or more snaps. Compare that to just 10 from the Titans.

The big name stands out because he seems like one of the players in the NFL most likely to be moved before the season, La’el Collins.

The former LSU lineman had all the potential coming out in the 2015 NFL Draft and it looks like he finally lived up to that potential this year. However, the Cowboys are going to lose him to free agency after this year.

Trade both. Start by asking for a 1st rounder and a 3rd rounder.

Next April would be pretty sweet. And I trust McClay.

I can't see getting a first rounder for either. Second thru 4th yes

They’re not getting Woods. Not for sale.

    Collins isn’t very likely either.

I guess it's not just Cowboys fans who don't understand the cap.

Say it with me class, we'll have about $100million in space.

    Woods--not a chance. Collins--not this year.

    Yep.

I think Woods is worth more to Dallas than anything anyone would give for him... and I don’t think Dallas is even thinking of trading Woods.

As for Collins, I don’t think the team wants to let him go yet, although I think they know this is likely his last year in Dallas. They’d have to be blown away by their offer, and Tenn wouldn’t give up that much.

Just wishful thinking on that Titans fan.

its either a 2nd rounder for Collins... or we get nothing when he departs in FA next offseason
and with future compensatory picks, we wouldn't know if we'd get anything more than a 4th rd pick.

only problem with departing with Woods, is the lack of depth. besides Covington who we dunno if he will even pan out this summer
(remember kony easly last year ?) who else is do we have that's even decent at 1 tech role.
-and we struggled vs the run On -the -Road last year too many times.

Given the on again, off again status of tyron smith, I'm not sure the cowboys would be in any hurry to get rid of collins. Right now I'd say his value is what he can do for us this year.

I don't remember us having a true nose tackle since Jason Ferguson - at least not one that was good. Ratliff played it but that was out of necessity. Woods needs to stay.

unless he has a tremendous summer, Wise was not projected to even make the 53 roster but more so a go for the practice squad. And like Trysten Hill, he's more of a 3 tech than a 1 tech.
and Hyder is much like Crawford in that he has the ability to go inside as a 3 tech in nickel packages, but he's more of an end than DT.
Does Daniel Ross even make the team ? and hes definitely a rotation type.

ratliff played it because he was reluctant to move to DE in the 3-4. and the present coaches then were probably too much of a wussies to force his azz to
move to where they more preferred him to be.

Keep everyone and let Dak walk.

Seriously if we fail this year I'm ready to let Dak walk, trade Zeke and let Amari walk. Build around the defense.

No no no. No one is taking Woods.

Young, costs nothing, was already a good starter for us, arrow heading up, and we have him for the next 2 years. (Maybe 3? Spotrac says he is only ERFA after 2020.)

Maliek is on his last year. Both Covington and Hyder are one year rentals. Hyder isn't even a DT. Much more of a DE.

Just me but if they called a min 3rd for either player.......I'm pulling the trigger. However, I would not consider Collins until after final cut down to make sure his replacement is on the roster. Both players are 2020 free agents with min chance of returning.

Correction.......just notice Woods is a restricted FA after 2020. I'd still consider it unless we have every intention of making him a serious offer.

Tyron hasn't missed extended time, and he says the back is good and he's coming back faster and stronger. He may have gotten over the hump.

Spending 8.5mil for extra insurance on Tyron seems pretty pricey. If they have news on his health that is bad, ok, but just going off last year, I'd say it's not worth it.

Backs always feel great after an off season. But once the strain is put on it again, they go to hell in a hurry.

Your right he hasnt missed that many games but he has also played in games when his back is bothering him and his level of play seems to tail off at the end of the season when he is most needed.

Like others have stated Im not letting Woods go anywhere. He made this a better defense when he was healthy.
