thats what happens when your return guy is hurt. you have to find someone who has done it before
And, Austin has done it before.. Point?

TW has made some plays, but Austin still gives this team more overall. Teams don't double Dez near as much when Austin in on the field than TW. Our offense had its lowest stretch when Austin whas hurt.
Besides, how many times do you think Austin will be able to return a kick before he aggravates his hammy again.
Remember when Miles Austin used to return kicks
Yeah I think he ran it back for a TD against Seattle in the playoffs many moons ago.
I think we'll see Williams being extremely selective about which kicks he decides to return and which ones he doesn't. The fumbled attempt was returned from deep in the endzone and shouldn't have been returned at all. I'm certain nobody felt worse than he did about his gaff. Let's see if he's smart enough to have learned from it. When it was reviewed in the film room, the staff surely had something to say about his mistakes. It's probably a good bet he'll be inclined to use better judgment going forward. If not, he'll just be replaced. It's that simple.
If it were ever that easy on this team it wouldn't have taken 3 years to cut ogletree
Guys who are soft with very limited lateral quickness don't make great kick returners... With the guys we add to this team on week to week basis's im actually surprised we never pick up a return specialist like a guy like Brandon Banks or someone who you could bring in for a week or two til Harris is healthy etc.
Maybe he was a candidate that could have been successful at it but he's proven he's not. The only accomplishment he's had was spotting an opposing team 7 points. I don't even think he's run past the 30 yard line yet. Try anyone. Try tanner, randle, anybody else. If anything Williams should be near bottom of the returnman depth chartIt's never easy to find highly capable kick returners. That's the problem we're facing. Complaining about one who's the most likely of our current candidates to be successful at it isn't going to solve the problem either. We lack anyone else who's a safe bet to be successful at it. For the time being, looks like we'll have to make the best of it. Personally, I'm holding out hope Harris will return soon. Other than that, I'm quite sure we're lacking in that department. If outstanding returners grew on trees, we'd never be without one. Many teams face this same thing.
