I think maybe this zone blocking scheme isn't a good fit for him. He was an effective runner running behind a fullback. He's more of a one cut running back with limited vision... IMO

this is my assessment as well, some runners are made for the zone blocking and some aren't. D mac is the same way

This team needs to draft a RB in the 1st or 2nd round if I understand everyone correctly. Or is it that they don't know how to draft a good RB? I think it's a little of both, but I would like a RB coach to get in his head to teach him to run to daylight, if not him then someone else. Also, I am not a fan of Tanner...fumble prone.

No they don't. You can get one in rounds 3-4 that can do the job.

Boy-tough to criticize anyone on this board w/o the whole "stop making player X the whipping boy" crowd defending a group that frankly doesn't deserve a whole lot of defending.

Murray sucked today....guy has no vision and looks slow. My only disappointment is that Dunbar fumbled, because if he hadn't i suspect we would have seen the beginning of a platoon at the very least. Offense got a jolt when he went into the game.

Murray has no vision and he is costing us. There were sveral runs where he lowers head into the pile when a cut would result in big yardage.

He isnt the answer. Runs to darkness.

I unfortunately saw it for the first time this game. it wasn't pleasant.

Hopefully Jerry learned his lesson after crowning Marion Barber with that contract. Unfortunately, I doubt it

I'd give Dunbar a shot here, assuming he's good at pass protecting of course, but this offense could use a spark and murray aint the answer.

I remember when I and most everyone here was high on Murray and thought he was our next great back.

I honestly believe the running back of our future is not on the current roster.

Skip Peete says hello. Not the same runner since his rookie year

He had a perfect crease to run through on the right side today and he was to slow getting through the whole

it's the rb routine around here. rookie arrives and looks great but gets injured and is never the same again.

Why worry about drafting a new RB? We don't use them anyways. We had 13 run attempts by a RB today. 13 attempt in a close game. It wasn't like we were so behind we had to abandon the run game. Why are we even carrying 4 RBs if we are not going to use them.

It didn't take long for Murray to join the ranks of Julius Jones, Marion Barber and Felix Jones as a whipping boy for the fan base. Murray might not be Emmitt Smith, but this team has no commitment to the running game anyway.

Dunbar had more yardage in 2 carries than Murray had the whole first half. So you really think Murray is the answer? Yes Dunbar fumbled but you have to let him get used to carrying the ball again.

I've always thought Murray was a good but not great back.. better than Julius in some aspects but worse in others. He doesn't have the wiggle and speed julius had but at least he didn't run into his own lineman. But lately that hasn't been the case either. He's the worst of Julius and Barber. He runs into his own linneman now and when he does hit a hole he finds someone to hit rather than cutting left or right to pick up more yards. Even in the Giants game when he trucked Kiwenuka (awesome by the way) when he broke that long run he still found someone to hit at the end. THAT is what everyone is complaining about. You only truck someone because you know your gonna run over them and keep going NOT because you wanna take someone down with you.

We need a running back with Dunbar's vision and Murray's hands. Is it time to start call for Randle?????

He does not have the great quickness or lateral movement to do these things.

If he tries to cut back, he most likely will get caught for a loss.

It's only a matter of time until he gets called for that ridiculous lowering your head/crown of the helmet penalty.

All those running backs (except Smith) showed early promise only to crash and burn as a member of the Cowboys. We have every reason to think that Murray will do the same. In fact, he is right on course.
