Sounds like a distraction to me.
Cowboys knew what to expect when they got this guy especially after the fiasco he went through last season in Philly.
It wont stop until TO stops talking to the media. If he truly wanted this sideshow to cease he would stop making himself available for soundbites.
Media would still speculate and try to stir controversy, but he wouldnt be feeding the fire.
I think it's less a distraction to the players than you might think. I get the impression that a lot of them don't really give a rat's ... about all of this.
With that said, you're absolutely right that we knew what we were getting. The good and the bad is overhyped when it comes to TO.
He's a model citizen, as he's not out there causing chaos in the Dallas community. A model teammate, he certainly doesn't seem to be.
A model teammate pulls a Parcells and walks away when pressed with the quarterback questions. Or a model teammate supports his quarterback and says, "Ya know, maybe some passes were a little off but I'm not exactly perfect, either. We'll get through this. We've got each other's back."
Sure, you'll hear phrases like those uttered from TO in a 45-minute presser. But moments later, you'll hear him say how he's not the one pulling the trigger and to look at the film if you want to know who to blame.
He can't have it both ways.
With that said, he has a right to be frustrated. We're not getting him the ball. Sure, he has passes headed his way, but few of them have been quality from my standpoint (other than the Washington game when TO had a stinker with the injury).
At this point, I just don't care. And I think few in the organization do, either. Let him fuss Monday through Saturday, so long as he produces on Sundays. That's my only concern -- not the hype, not the talk; none of that. I just want to see Bledsoe start connecting with him.
