Terry Glenn not going to Miami apparently

Per ESPN radio...

Apparently, Glenn didn't pass the physical in Miami (or something to that affect) and they think his knee is still in bad shape, so they might just be balking on signing Glenn now. Looks like he messed up in not taking Jerry up on the waiver offer.

Yes this is probably it. I feel for him. He really tried hard to come back. At least he got $5 million last year. Not too shabby.

True, but he could have gotten an extra half-mil had he been smart and signed the waiver.

Terry Glenn says feeling mutual with Miami

Calvin "Lucky" Watkins tracked down Terry Glenn, who said the Dolphins have expressed interest in him and the feeling is mutual. However, it's not a done deal with the Dolphins. Glenn said his agent has talked to several teams.

Tony Sparano told Miami media that the team is doing its "due diligence" on Glenn, meaning they want to make sure he can play with his knee problems.

I was under the impression he was willing to sign the waiver but Jerry released him anyway.

I think Jerry believes (probably correctly) that he'll never make it through the season. He didn't want to waste a spot on a guy who is only gonna end up getting hurt again.

If he stays in shape and doesn't sign anywhere else, I suppose he'd be an option down the line if we get really desperate at WR.

I think that's the case, knee wasn't sound, and didn't want to impede the progress of the young receivers

He's not dumb. He heard who they were giving a shot at QB. My knee would hurt too.

Maybe Glenn heard about the Dolphins giving Quincy Carter a look-see and decided to back out.:laugh2:

yeah, but a little too late. I think Jerry grew tired of it all and had second thoughts about it.

Exactly. He had his chances to sign but was out there saying he would "never" sign a split contract. He waited too long to change his mind.

Of course even if he had signed, he might still have been cut. No GM, including JJ, would keep a guy around a second year if the knee wasn't healthy and if the guy was too out of shape to practice.

It's too bad, really. I was hoping he was healthy enough to play and that he would sign the split contract and come back and win a Super Bowl with the Cowboys.

Wait a minute, I've heard from more than one poster on this board that "NFL physicals mean nothing".

I stated this a while ago and it feels good to be able to say I told you so even tho I did like Glenn. I mentioned that this situation was just like DWoody's.
