There's a reason they're releasing him he's done. The Cowboys already have enough defensive players who can't stay healthy.

I'm hearing after last Sundays loss he was quoted saying "we got out-coached". Might have to do w him getting the boot.

Not sure what our exact money situation is but we would owe him 400k and the Texans 60k/game for signing bonus. Not sure we even have that.

@AdamSchefter: Ed Reed goes on waivers. A team claiming him would owe him $412,000 plus $62,500 for each game he's active, via http://t.co/MLwdbD9kUg.

He's owed basically nothing for the rest of the season but do we have enough cap room to bring him in? If Wilcox is healthy I'd rather he start and use Reed & him on passing downs because Church is somewhat of a liability in coverage.

No. Hes done and not effective anymore. No matter who we bring in this season its not going to turn around for us. I did want him before the season started thoughi cant lie. But we dodged a bullet by not getting him.

Hate to say it cause he was the best Safety in the league for a long time and I enjoyed watching him play, but he looks done to me. He should just retire imo.

That's fine but if Wilcox isn't ready who would you rather have - Ed Reed or Jeff Heath?

Just askin'.

Ehhh...I don't see how he could hurt us any. He's obviously not really got anything left but as depth or help to an already injury riddled defense I don't see how it could really hurt.

Lol of course reed, heath Is terrible. This defense will still be the worst in the league with or without him though.

You don't bring in someone like Reed who is injured, is blaming coaches, is being pulled as a starter and pay him the money HE wants or even close to it.

You can not continue to over pay for aging vets that are on the downside of their careers.

Have we learned nothing?

He was done when the Ravens let him go. If he was not done, he'd still be a Raven. He's not worth the cap hit.

If he did have anything left in the tank, he makes more sense with a team that has Super Bowl potential and a very strong locker room. Denver and New England comes to mind. Reed would turn our weak locker room upside down.
