We should at least look into it, especially if we have Huff a look. Is Huff better than Reed?

Ed Reed and Charles Woodson should have both retired last year with the teams they helped make great.

It always surprises me when NFL greats like this feel the need to eek out another year or two when clearly their best days are WAY in the rearview mirror.

I'm hearing after last Sundays loss he was quoted saying "we got out-coached". Might have to do w him getting the boot.

I seriously doubt it he's an aging player who didn't even play last Sunday. He hasn't been what the Texans were hoping for. They only signed him because they were a contending team and thought his experience would help them. With the disappointing season they're having and as little as he's contributed releasing him comes as no surprise to me.

Imagine having the dream of playing in the NFL and finally getting there? I wouldn't want to let go either. The guys who can let go are usually the ones who didn't really want to play anyway.

Two guys -- both 35 (or more) are HOF bound, have won the Superbowl recently, and both have been let go / or cut by their teams.

I understand the longing, but it looks like hanging on simply to collect another paycheck.

i dont think his personality would work here. too many folks in the country club would be disturbed by his behavior.

Nothing wrong with that. They have the rest of their life to not play football - play as long as you can and get paid all you can, because you can never go back.

Last Sunday Wade was the head coach. If he was bothered about the coaching last week he certainly won't want to play for Garrett who's been a worse head coach than Wade.

Yeah he will have a lot more to complain about concerning getting "out-coached" if we put a claim in for him.

The last thing the Cowboys or I should say Jerry needs is to be adding a player who's going to be outspoken about the coaching.

I don't. I mean when you've made as much as Ed Reed has? Is the torture your body takes really worth the few million?

Sit back for a second and consider how Huff and Reed are available safeties out there, and how in just a couple years these guys have gone from the penthouse to the dog house, literally undesired by teams starving for safety help. The NFL!!

Troy Aikman has said several years after he retired he got a call from the Dolphins about QB'ing their team.

I think sometime these teams grasp at straws with the great players. I guess just seeing if they have anything left.

I think Reed is done. He has a bad hip. No need to waste a roster spot.

Can't blame them for that.

He is finished. Done.
The hype machine was in full action for him. Then he sat on the bench and bad-mouthed the team and coaches. He even got mild-mannered Wade Phillips flummoxed and WP just said ever body has his opinion. "We try to keep ever thing inhouse." Strong words from Wade.

Old, drained and now a cancer.

Hey, let's sign him up!
