Texas Southern CB Tray Walker has visits with eight teams scheduled, according to Tony Pauline.
This means the media, including this site, is behind on Walker. Those eight teams include the Arizona Cardinals, Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints. Walker is a physical specimen, measuring in at 6'2 3/4" and 189 lbs, recording a 36.5-inch vertical jump and 10-7 broad jump. Walker ran in the mid-4.4s and posted a 4.05 short shuttle and a sub-6.7 3-cone. Teams love length at corner, and Walker fits the bill. Mar 27 - 10:18 AM

Size and speed is a pretty wicked combination -- now if he only has the instincts to go along with the rest of it.

good numbers looks like a zone corner.I am weary though because we have had no success with small school DBs recently.

The height is nice. I wonder how the hips are though. The tall lanky CBS often have right hips. Looks like a very willing tackler in the clip above. I've honestly never even looked at this guy.

What about Scandrick? Yes it was a while ago, but he was a Bronco before the Bronco's were the Bronco's (and even then one could argue they are still a small school team that doesn't play anyone). Though looking around at him, not seeing a lot to suggest he is draftable beyond a 7th round pick.

This kid looks good. I like that he knows how to tackle and is committed to it. He could be a late round steal for whatever team takes him. He seems to have a very high upside.

Usually at 6'3", 189 you look like a tooth pick. But he's got some mass to him.

I have faith in Marinelli to communicate his preferences to McClay's team, so not worried about past blunders at corner. I am worried that this kid is the exact kind of corner that Seattle covets - big, fast, physical under the radar guys. They could nab him before the 7th.

Would love to take a chance on projects like Walker, Texas Ranger, on the 3rd day.

Hey RS12... You post stuff like this a lot and I never say thanks but it is appreciated man. Thank you.

I like this guy but I don't think he will be a late round pick any more. He will probably go earlier than most people think he will. He has the size and physical ability to be one of the new, longer CB's that everyone wants these days. If he has a good head on his shoulders, he could be a real find.

I really think that people underestimate smarts when evaluating players - and that includes NFL scouts and exec's. It isn't just Richard Sherman's height that makes him a really good player... IMO, it is his brain that does most of the heavy lifting for him. Same with Michael Strahan, Brian Urlacher and Warren Sapp. Quick thinkers with the physical ability to play in the pros. With some positions, I don't think it is as important as others... but smart guys are good to have anywhere as long as they have the ability too.

Anyway, I got off track. Walker could surprise a lot of folks with how soon he's drafted. I just hope that if Dallas takes him in the 3rd or something that people don't freak out because it isn't a name they've heard much about.

I agree, love the tall CB's. The Seahawks plan.

Thanks Asthma. I post what I find interesting and think will appeal to the masses, or generate interest.

Well, good find on this guy. I bet most people don't know much about him and this kind of stuff really helps everyone get up to speed on all the prospects.

Maybe it will keep people from freaking out when Dallas drafts someone they've never heard of... or rather, they will have already heard of them and not freak out, lol.

I 2nd or 3rd or 4th this!! The guys you uncover, I value more than the ones the analysts claim to uncover. Thank you very much for your input.
