TFred feeling better

Glad to hear it!!

But looney is doing a good job of holding down the fort!! Make sure your 100% Tfred we want you back for the long haul!

Saturday Nov 17th is the earliest he can practice

He could be back for last 4 games and playoffs

There's no way. This is a serious debilitating illness. I mean he just got FEELING back in his hangs. He's going to have to completely heal then get back in the weight room and then practice.

See ya next year Travis.

Yea....selfishly I’m hoping he can rehab / retrain and get on the field, but a season off is probably best for him long term.

Such a solid player/ person. Terrible this happened.

And now the bad news

Frederick still has no sensation in his feet. But he remains optimistic and cites statistics that show 95 to 100 percent of people afflicted with this disorder enjoy a full recovery.

”It’s going to come back,’’ Frederick said. “I have no doubt about that.

”I’m doing good. I’m getting better, slowly but steady.’’

Meh. You cite the good news.
Statistics show 95 to 100 percent of people afflicted with Guillain-Barre fully recover.

Hadn't seen that stat before. That's all the good news I need.

Once he was put on IR, I didn't expect Fredbeard to play a game this year. Next year is what matters. And by the stats, his certainty that he'll be back is well founded.

Gonna love the oline depth next year. They should see about expanding the skillset of one or more of these guys into a short yardage TE. Or a FB. Starting quality linemen should be on the field pounding the defense. Especially with our lame-o blocking TEs, and Swaim a free agent.

I hope he fully recovers, whether it's to play this season or next....or not at all, as long as he recovers. But I want him waiting until he's 100% and back in football shape before he tries to come back. That way he'll stay healthy and a huge part of this team for a long time to come.

Whats bad is, who knew he didnt have sensation in his hands? Didn't know it had gotten to that point. Glad hes on the upswing

Anyone who has seen GBS first-hand knew it, which is why some of us kept saying don't expect to see him this season when he was first diagnosed.

That's one of the first things to go, but that it's coming back is a good sign. I'm hopeful he'll be ready to go next year.

Man this o line hasn't looked good mostly because we haven't had all of them starting together on a week to week basis. No continuity. It would be great to have all of them back and healthy

Why am I getting deja vu a la Jaylon Smith here? Are we going to get daily threads on Fredrick getting better?

Just posting what I seen. As there were threads asking about updates.
Of course there are those that have to put down the threads, but then again they put down everything.

Actually that is typical of GBS. Numbness, tingling sensations.
Looking at photos and videos and seeing him on the sidelines. What is very good, is, looks to be no atrophy in his ankles, feet and hands, wrists areas.

Who says he has no sensation in his feet?
If he did not, he would not be up walking around. Stop the dramatics.
He has the same numbness as inches hands, but there is some there.
As I said in another post, there looks to be no atrophy from photos I seen. This is a very good sign.

Probably for the best. Just sit him, and have him for the long term.
Not that he could not play even at 90%, but just play it safe, give him full year to be 100%.

seen a tweet, but can’t post it.
Said TFred getting feelings back in his hands, good news for his recovery.

Can some, one find it and post it.
Obviously, it would be nice if he played for us again. But, I just want him to live a long and happy life.

I have GBS. Hit me when I was 12, in the early 70's. They did not know as much back then as they do now of course. Thing is I never had any symptoms at all. Until my 6th grade school teacher noticed some difference in how I walked.
It never stopped me from playing sports. I just wasn't as fast. But the atrophy had already set in.

But the tingling sensations and numbness are there. But no where near what it used to be. I still have some, but very slightly., but as I said, it was not caught like they caught TFred's.

Had no idea he had no feeling in his hands, just thought he was feeling weak overall and the weakness was simply sporadic.

He's definitely not playing this year, but if he can get back to feeling close to normal by the end of the season he'll be 100% for next season.

Hope he gets better for his sake though.

That's terrific! Hope he recovers and we don't try and rush him on the field. His health is the most important thing to worry about before anything.
