From the mobile offices of Air Cowboys America, the truth and nothing but the truth because we can't handle the truth, from Oxnard via Farmers Branch transmitters where most people are all alike, except some are worse.

Wtih Glenn gone, there goes our season. Wah!
55chevy.jpg

So you think we are doomed?

Oh, so Glenn's exit suddenly puts a shroud over the camp?
Oh, worry!!!

Stop yer whining you sissipated Glenn lovers. Speak up and tell me how much we lose.

Yeah, c'mon and tell me.
The man was injured and Jerra did what any good GM would do: cut his losses. And I quote the great Jerra: "At the end of the day it had more to do with where we are right now ... all that might have impacted how we give our young players a chance in how we evaluate that position."

And, by heck, look for the young 'uns to breathe a little more free.

It's time for the young 'uns to show their stuff and now the opportunity is theirs.
Breathe free little benchwarmers. Fly away free little guys.

So let's review: We lose little with Glenn's departure. Crayton ain't all that. That is why Crayfish is, in reality, the No. 3 guy behind T.O. and Witten. As it should be. And I bet those young 'uns WRs will be putting on a great show for all.

Also another positive for the 'Boys.': Anything that gives more receiving time to T.O. is a plus.

So, forget the doom and gloom.

As the Chinese say:
"With adversity comes opportunity!"

How long are we going to be able to give the ball to TO w/o someone opposite him who can take the heat/coverage away from him? Witten sure can't do that; we know Crayton can't so now it's in the hands of 2 undrafted 3rd year WRs. Hurd lacks the speed needed to stretch the field so that leaves Austin whose so far this preseason has shown good hands & we already know he's got the size/speed but can he produce in the preseason games and carry that play into the regular season & beyond. Stanbach might be the long term answer as our #1 or #2 WR but anything we can get from him in essentially his first year probably comes later in the season and more likely next year.

After one practice, you sound pretty sure. No chance you might change a position or two or three, by the end of camp?

My good man. Believe me, Garrett knows how to divide the ball to the most effect.
Picture a symphony with Jason the conductor.
Crescendo with T.O., brass with Witten and frenetic violins as the young 'uns are set loose with Hurd in the lead. And an occasional blast from Crayfish the bottom feeder.
Ah, music to mah ears.

One, day, when Cowboy Central unbans me, I will leave this Foreign Legion outpost and you will be left to carry on.

We have been waiting for the young un's for two years now. If Owens goes down we will find out that they are not really producers. I am not saying cutting Glenn wasnt the right decision, but all this talk of the young WR time is fund in no evidence when honestly answered.

How many games did Glenn play in the 13-3 season?

How many of the games in which Glenn played did we win?

Our season didn't rest on the shoulders of Terry Glenn, and now he's gone our season/chances are not gone.

This season, as last, our hopes are gonna rest on the shoulders of TO.

unless we get another standout WR, or Felix Jones and MBIII can run all over teams.

There was no guarantee Glenn would be able to play. If that was the case (50/50) chance why not give the young guys reps that they need to get better. With Terry being him he'll be taken there share and still might not be able to go

What's it going to be then, eh?

It is not just one practice. We have not seen a meaningful influence from Terry Glenn since he was fumbling the ball in Seattle.

This kind of "woe is us" reaction is a bit late. This is what should happened when the word "microfracture" was mentioned last summer. That should have started the sissipated Glenn lovers (classic) to begin the hand-wringing.

Tend to agree. It does raise the question whether we should have taken a WR in an early round, but who knows if they would be any better than what we already have.

JJ already said the answer was 'no' immediately after the draft.

I honestly get so lost in GimmeTheBall!'s nutty writing style that I generally forget what he is talking about half way through the post. All I got out of the post is.. stop being sissys, he thinks our young receiver bench are a bunch of nightingales locked in their cages, and he holds a great deal of respect for the communist system in China. Whatever.

I disagree, this is CB/FS the last couple of years all over again. After Passing on guys like Antonio Cromartie, Kelly Jennings etc, we heard the old "young guys have to step up" speech.

We would have won the SuperBowl last year IMO had we drafted Cromartie.
It is absurd to to accept the company line that "none of the WR in this years class could come in and upgrade the position and/or make an impact

I guarantee you a couple of those guys we could have easily targeted in the second round will be making some big plays this year, unfortunately they will be doing it for our rivals.

I personally liked Sweed and Jackson, but would have been happy with any of the top five or six guys.

My final thought is this, Jerry is a Great owner, he didn't get where he is by ignoring his instincts or by being afraid to make a mistake.Jerry stated after the draft that he wanted to "move up and get one of the wr's" but was told to be patient.

Unless we are able to bring in a decent Wr, our offensive symphony will be out of tune IMO, a deep threat is simply to important an instrument to play without, and even Garrett will be limited.

Hmm, did it work last year?

THAT is the million dollar question.

We have a SUPREME talent in TO. He only has so many years left.

IF we dont get some other than Witten(I sorta disagree with you, Witten has taken pressure off TO and that has resulted in a STELLAR season for Witten) but back to my point... to take some pressure off TO and allow TO to make BIG PLAYS... TO stay in Dallas will net us 0 titles.

If we do.. I think we could be unstoppable.

Someone like a Boldin opposite TO will also help Jones/Barber at the line as well.... also helps the linemen.... its the trickle down effect :D

Eggsactly.

I was one of the vocal critics when Jerra did not draft nor seek a FA wide receiver.
I have come to understand that Jerra had a better understanding of our needs. He's done everything he can to enhance the 'Boys chances (unless, of course we consider old "We're fine" Wade, but nobody is perfect).
Jerra knows we have a Pro Bowl WR, TE and other options with Crayton and Hurd and that is the cards that have been dealt.

Jerra, you were right and I was wrong.
And I cant wait for you and the Boys to win another Lombardini.
