Dear Mr. Parcells
Thank you for building the team you have built for us. I may not have agreed with some of your coaching tactics yet I'm not a HOF coach. you did get us into the playoffs 2 out of 4 years that you coached. I like the talent build up you left for Wade. There is one or two holes but one off season should fill that. Don't listen to the naysayers they are after instant gratification which we all know cannot happen in the NFL. I am optimistic about the team you left us with and thank you for participating in the hiring process. You were good to the cowboys and God bless.

He was good not great.

He was hired to be great.

Are you happy we have the team we do now over the team we had when we hired him?

Frankly, that is irrelevant to me.

Yes. That is why I said he was good.

When I hear the "Bill Parcells was a failure because he was hired to win Superbowls" argument I wonder what other coaches are hired for. Does that mean that we're okay with Wade Phillips or Norv Turner not getting past the wildcard round, since they weren't hired to win Superbowls. Will Jerry tell us when he hires a coach to win the Superbowl and when he hires him just for laughs and giggles?

I agree with you........but he did push us forward where Barrry, Chan, and Dave didn't do a thing for us.

I agree.

Parcells was a better coach than Campo.

if Romo wouldn't have dropped the ball who knows what might have happened. we could be celebrating another title or we could be where we are now. without a doubt phillips will benefit from the team BP helped build. get romo a little more protection, some stick em' and dallas will be serious contenders this year

I would be very upset if WP wasn't hired to win a super bowl for us.

Explain...........
Not sure what isn't clear, but I'll try and explain it better. I doubt it will satisfy you, because I doubt you want to hear that I'm not a fan of his. Here goes anyway.

I do not worship the job he did here. I don't think he gave 100% after 2003. You mentioned we have a better team than what he inherited. True, but his best season was with the talent he inherited from Dave Campo, not the talent he acquired. That tells me he gave up.

I was excited when he came here. I'm disappointed in the results. I think he was capable of better. I think the Cowboys fans deserved better.

I see the excitement the players on both sides of the ball have at the prospect of being turned loose. I read the reports about how for 4 years he was an insufferable grouch that everyone tiptoed around. Even Jerry Jones mentioned to the media that the new carpet had no eggshells for them to tiptoe around, and he and Bill got along. I look at 2 losses in the playoffs (which is way below my expectations) and I think good riddance.

I don't feel any need to thank him. My thanks to him was rooting for his team for 4 years while he was here. I'd have done that regardless of who the Coach was.

I'm not okay with any Coach not winning playoff games and Super Bowls. In that regard, I think you'll find I'm very consistent.

I can understand your feelings but you do have to consider that he created a different system from the first year he was there.........he's great at recognizing talent and brought some good people in. I think the problem was is that the game has changed since the early 90's and he didn't.........I think he found the talent but the game may have passed him bye.

I've considered all of that. I should be grateful that he couldn't keep up with the game and how it has changed? I can't be. Sorry. If that makes me cruel and insensitive then I plead guilty.
