Del Rio coached a terrible game. Their game plan seemed to have zero faith in Cook, relying far too much on the running game which put Cook in too many 3rd in long situations. One and done RAIDERS.

This thread is proof that Dak has spoiled a lot of Cowboy fans already. Conner Cook is what a rookie looks like they are forced into playing significant time in the NFL.

Dak isn't, but he is a freak of nature. Conner Cook is exactly what a rookie QB looks like when facing a good NFL defense.

The Cowboys met with Dak pre-draft more than any draft prospect in at least the last 10 years. It was not all luck.
Of all NFL fans, I can only imagine that Cowboys fans on this board give our front office less credit than any fan base. We could win 20 SBs in a row and our fanbase would complain that not everyone of our draft picks were All-Pro.

Let's be fair the guy was at a huge disadvantage starting his first NFL game in the playoffs and having their top player on the OL out. Never seen a board jump to conclusions like this one.
thats true, but just looking at his poise , and if he gets rattled, he isnt as good as dak.
Had Conner started game one, I dont think he would win 11 in a row.

Not saying he is bad, just more of a regular rookie qb.

I think we owe thanks to the eagles, rams, raiders, and denver, they all pushed cowboys to pick dak.

I thought connor might outplay oswieler, but with the dropped passes, and not running enough, and not a good game plan
for him, it wasnt much of a contest

But then he drafted Dak. dont really need to beat ourselves up over a draft pick we didn't make.

My God- true that. I don't know why people keep bringing this stuff up!!

I don't think it's a real evaluation game for cook. The guy came in the very last game and played a playoff game against one of the top defenses in the league with both his primary receivers hurt.
And, how many passes were dropped by Oakland receivers?

Not reason to let Cousins go. Bad int in the last game but not a bad year.
Isn't he on a franchise deal? In DC Skins fans have written him off, but again, they're Skins fans. He's a tricky situation, they won't be high enough for a top QB in the draft so they're almost stuck with him or nothing. I see Cousins as a poor armed Flacco; a top 15-20 QB but only bc the league is watered down @ QB.

Probably not considering that with 3 games to go, people were still saying "Now THIS, is Dak's biggest test!"

This should lock the thread. It was a stupid one to begin with.

I won't hold this game against him..

Oakland WRs did him no favors. The running game couldn't get going and by god that had the 2 worst starting tackles I've ever seen. It was like playing with 3 o-linemen

I would totally agree. Crabtree dropped at least two or three balls that hit him right in the hands. Cooper was little better. Cook may not have had the best game of his short career, but the loss was not totally on his shoulders.

The kid has talent, if they develop him he could fetch a higher draft choice. Carr isn't going anywhere obviously. But Cook has talent for sure..

Doesn't matter look at Brady's career. When you draft a QB in the sixth round and they end up leading you to 6 SB's, winning 4 of them and become one of the top two greatest QBs in NFL history, nothing can top that kind of luck. Regardless what Dak does in the playoffs he's got a long way to go to top the luck NE has had with Brady. He's pushing 40 and is still playing as great as ever.
It would be great if Dak beats Brady head to head on Feb. 5. I know it's a TEAM sport, but that would feel so sweet. Not a prediction, just a hypothetical.
