Of all of these, my favorite had to be the 1990 game. This game showed the world that the Cowboys were on their way to dominance. Dallas scored 17 unanswered points against a team that had Super Bowl aspirations. To listen to that crowd roar, after years of being in the doldrums, chilled my spine. Emmitt Smith’s 47-yard run was a thing of beauty.

Wasn't this the Leon Lett game?

Just wondering why there wasn't a comment by it too?

Then again, I'd like to forget that game too.

Seeing all the "non-bold" games has me worried about tomorrow.

The "big advantage" we have of playing on thanksgiving doesn't seem to always pan out.

The 1966 Our 1st Thanksgiving Game featured the great Jim Brown.......what a runner. ...Dandy Don took us to center stage of the NFL world.

1966 was also A great year in the history of the Dallas Cowboys

1. President and GM Tex Schramm was very much involved in the merger of the AFL and NFL. With an agreement to set up a season ending Championship Game.

2. The Thanksgiving game tradition was born.

3. The Cowboys win the Eastern Division Championship.

4. "In the NFL Championship Game the Cowboys hosted the Green Bay Packers at the Cotton Bowl in front of 75,504 fans. The Packers would prove to be the better team that day, but the Cowboys did not go down without a fight, as they gave the Packers all they could handle before a Don Meredith pass was intercepted in the endzone with 28 seconds left in a 34-27 loss."

I remember that '90 game. That was when I for the first time really began to believe we were going to be SB Champs in the near future. Emmitt's stiff-arm TD run against Green was a classic Emmitt run!

Yes, they did, but the NFL briefly considered moving away from games on that date and then came to their senses.

On a somber note, I'm sure you remember today's date for another reason.

Right. A lot of people here don't remember Reagan being shot, let alone JFK.

Hos, there were Thanksgiving games played in 1977. It just did not involve Dallas.

What I vividly remember was how Miami lambasted the St. Louis Cardinals 55-14 in St. Louis.

CBZ40,

Great walk down memory lane. However, I think you meant to say Leroy Kelly instead of Jim Brown. Brown retired in 1965.
