That Was Awful...

I love my boys, but if I were with the Giants I would be laughing right now.

Our offensive line needs to grow up fast. Arkin made some mistakes, but I was encouraged by him recovering and not allowing the same mistakes.
I hope they are.

Did you see anything from the 3rd WRs?
Yeah, one or two things worth exploring. I think we probably won't sign a vet WR unless it is James Jones cut by the Packers.

He went up and got the ball tonight too, something that he "doesn't do" in practice if the tweets/media stuff is to be believed.
Looked like a veteran using his body to shield that pattern over the middle.

Yes sir, he did. I also noticed he has a nice inside cut on slant routes, though we did not throw him one that I recall. That could be huge for us if he gets matched up on an undersized CB.

Is that the first time we really saw Holmes in any pre-season games? I do not recall any playing time before.

Man, did you guys see #41 Newman square up and make a stone cold knockout tackle?

Then, I remembered Newman is not on our team.......I thought at 1st it was the best tackle I had ever seen Newman make.....oh well :lmao2:

Players cut with enough years in the NFL can sign with their team of choice?

Thinking about James Jones.

Holmes shows a lot of promise. He made some great progress tonight.

He looked the best out of all of them. I didn't see anything spectacular, but at least he could get open. The Beasley and Coale fans look a little silly after preseason game 1. Let's see how the look after preseason game 2. Same goes for Holmes. He wasn't tearing up camp, but he showed up tonight. The next step is consistency.

Players CUT can sign with any team regardless of their tenure. If a player is waived then he has to pass waivers before being re-signed by the team for IR or practice squad consideration. But an outright cut can sign with anyone.

The Cowboys starting units both offensively and defensively were very unimpressive. Romo made one play to Dez and that was pretty much it. The pass protection was awful Romo was under duress practically every time he dropped back and the run blocking was pitiful. Murray and Felix combined for 2 yards rushing.

The Cowboys starting defense left receivers wide open both Palmer and Leinart had little trouble finding open receivers. Both QB's saw little pressure and had it not been for several drops their numbers would have been better. That looked like a couple of 8-8 teams out there tonight. The Cowboys have a long way to go.

I didn't like Holmes routes or body language. To me he looks like a guy that if he gets hands on him at the line of scrimmage he'll lose most of the time.

It's still early and I may change my mind but I didn't see a guy I thought was a sure thing to make the team much less be the #3.

This OL will cost Romo's life.

The one we saw tonight will that's not the one I want to see on opening night against the Giants.

I believe he was with the Vikings last year at this time.

I don't think you're too far off tonight. While I think he did the best job at WR tonight, I believe that to be more of a slam against the other WRs.

I thought 2 of his receptions were practically gimmies, and the other was legitimately solid.

He hasn't been tearing up training camp either, so tapping the breaks with this one is probably for the best.
