I just watched NFL Network's America's Game, which featured the '71 Cowboys as the 15th best Super Bowl team ever. Lost in the shufle is the crazy,controversial, and funny Duane Thomas, who at the end stated that every time there is controversy, the Cowboys win the Super Bowl. He stated, "look at us, look at Jimmy and Jerry"; so know, I am ready to look at that player, that coach, and that pro bowl qb.

I would argue that the talent is not as great as some would think. Spears, Canty, James, etc are not world beaters. I think we have over rated them.

I agree with both of you. I think the talent level is not what many think it is and I KNOW the head coach isn't what many think it is.

And neither is the Head Coach. He has put together a good team; not a great team but good enough to win in this watered down league. But his coaching has left them flat and underachieving at the end of the year...just like in the past three years.

What are you talking about dbair, don't you know we are going to the Superbowl since Parcells has stepped up or is stepping up to the plate with:

1) an upbeat press conference
2) last regular season game defense gimmicking
3) reinforcement of the yes we suck but still can win in this sucking universe theory

stealth, this is 4 years now of the December fade. Despite of all these hallowed acquistions and draft picks we are not much better than when Parcells came on board. I think we have a better base of talent but we certainly aren't coaching optimally.

Why is it that the Eagles come to play hard and focused every game. And they also play smart. Coaching. Do you really think Reid needed a pep talk from Parcells. How freaking embarrassing.

It is starting to get to the point that with less player talent and coaching support Campo comparatively accomplished more than a HOF coach who got the majority control of picking players and picking or retaining coaching assistants. Chan Gailey is starting to look like a world beater.

I don't hate Parcells, I have a high regard for what he accomplished in the past. Note that is the key word, PAST.

stealth, who installed the 3-4 system and has an inexperienced 3-4 coach to semi-coordinate it. Who has not overcome a team 4 year December fade since he got here?
