Seriously. 75% of the people in there don't even know what 12th man means. Even at the Sunday night game against the giants, entire sections (on the 4th level!) were just sitting there. Then, a group started a "let's go Cowboys" chants when we're on offense.

And the Cowboys need to stop with the loud, stupid rap songs on every time-out. It's just.. STUPID.

I agree 100%. I hate that " we dem boys" song. It's not even that good.

We need a big defensive play early to get the crowd into it and hopefully that snowballs through out the rest of the game.

Its an art museum where an occasional football game breaks out.

As a fan, the first two games come with a asterisk next to the Wins. Yes, our Cowboys are 2-0, but the mounting injury list of starters is concerning (that's an understatement) and has left me feeling hollow. I've wanted to be excited and celebrate both these divisional victories, but its hard too when star players like Romo and Dez are lost as a result.

The injury list continues with other notable players: CB Orlando Scandrick (out for the season); DT Terrell McClain (out for the season); QB Tony Romo (8 weeks); WR Dez Bryant (6 weeks); DE Randy Gregory (6 weeks); OL Ronald Leary (day to day); DE Jeremey Mincey (day to day); LB Rolando McClain (sus 4 games); DE Greg Hardy (sus 4 games); and future HOF TE Jason Witten hobbling.

The bright side is that most of these starters are projected back during the season barring any setbacks. So, in the mean time our depth will be tested. We've been hearing all offseason how much the Dallas Cowboys player depth has greatly improved.. and I tend to agree, but I guess we will truly see these coming weeks just how good they really are.

Unproven players that we need to step up include: CB Tyler Patmon; DT Davon Coleman; DT Ken Bishop; OT La'el Collins; DE Jack Crawford; WR Devin Street; WR Brice Butler; TE Gavin Escobar; DE Ryan Russell; and dare I say QB Brandon Weeden.

That's a lot to ask for I know and most teams would fold, But I believe Jason Garrett & CO. has rebuilt a championship caliber team able to weather the storm. And if the can, the Dallas Cowboys could be primed and ready for a Superbowl 50 invitation.

That said, its up the fans at home games to make a difference and help our limping team along. I'm talking about the 12th Man. Now, more than ever, the Dallas Cowboys need their fans to stand up...literally. I mean, we need to be Loud! Seattle Loud! If we are to survive the next 7-8 games without Romo and others, we have to be unable to talk come Mondays. The Cowboys will host the Falcons (2-0), Patriots (2-0), Seahawks (0-2), and the Eagles (0-2) at home during this stretch. I would love nothing more than to kick their butts and give those teams a taste of their own medicine. Dallas has been criticized as of late for their lack of enthusiasm..

Its time to change perception because your team needs you now. I think its well know how crowd noise can effect games, but I've pasted a couple of articles to refresh our memories:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1885183-how-does-the-12th-man-really-affect-nfl-games

And I hate this memory of the Vikings/Cowboy playoff game in the Metrodome in 2009 against old man Favre:

http://www.foxsports.com/north/story/top-10-metrodome-moments-in-vikings-history-122613

"Crowd noise contributed to the Cowboys' protection problems during the divisional playoff matchup, in which the Vikings sacked Romo six times, hit him 10 and held him to 198 yards passing and a 66.1 rating on 35 attempts."

To conclude, The state of our Cowboys isn't great, but we are now built to handle adversity more so than we ever have over the last 20 years. Its time for us, the fans, to show are appreciation and make a difference. So Scream, yell, bang, stomp.. whatever you need to do to be LOUD! By all means necessary. Thanks for reading.

Great write up!

Another player or players we need to step up is the running game...I don't care if it's Randle, McFadden, or other...someone needs to prove they can hurt a defense to open things up for Weeden. The defensive gameplan will be all about Weeden and disrupting him and attacking his confidence. When Weeden doesn't have to do much, he can play perfect. It's when the onus is completely on him to win that he has a tendency to play poorly, imo.

Unfortunately, the crowd noise will likely depend on the energy of the team coming out...regardless of what is said here or on the jumbotron come game day.

I've witnessed the very same things at Jerryworld. As an architecture major, I love the building and the spectacle of it all but as a fan, the people there just ruin it. I will still try to catch a couple games each year there but I enjoy the game in front of my TV just about as much. Price of brewskies is way better at home.

Been saying that since forever. When it comes to homefield advantage, we simply don't have it.

I've posted about it before, but they could improve that situation simply by changing how the operate the sound system at Jerry World.

They crank the sound system up so loud between plays that fans can't hear other fans cheering. Once they have to turn it off when the team is in the huddle, the fans have lost the "feel" for the game that should come from the other fans. In college games that I've attended, you would know what is happening on the field even with your eyes closed just based on the fans, but that just can't happen at Cowboys games.

With Jerry's sound system you couldn't hear a Jumbo Jet if it landed in the parking lot. At some point in the game, listening to the likes of Miley Cyrus and all sorts of other pop crap at 200 decibels, you get to the point that the last thing you want to do is make more noise.

The whole stadium could have been built to be the loudest in the NFL but that is not what Jones wanted. I know if I were pouring that much cash into it, I would assure that the acoustics in the place would make it miserable for the visiting team.

Won't be a 12th man, those tickets are going to be sold. Someone offered me Carolina tickets. I was like these ain't discounted enough especially when not really sure if Romo and Dez are back fo the game.

This is why you get as drunk as you can before you walk in, and make sure to take two beers for your walk to the stadium. Haha.

Hmm, maybe that's why I see so many annoyingly drunk jerks at the game.

Maybe they need to get radio station guys there to pump up the crowd and have giveaways for loudest fans. :)
