Almost 20 minutes to post time. Big Brown's 1-5 to win it. I would say wow, but after dominating the Kentucky Derby late in the race and the Preakness being a shorter, faster track, I think the odds are more than fair.

I don't think he has a serious challenger in this race. Especially from the 7 hole. He doesn't like traffic they say, but in a field this small that shouldn't be a concern at all.

When you have such a heavy favorite you need a longshot for place or show to make money. I'll go Riley Tucker. The horse looks very relaxed.

I don't know if Big Brown's on sedatives or what, but he's too darn calm. Usually, horses are a bit jittery, but I don't see that in Big Brown.

Damn!!!!!!! That horse is a beast!!!!!!!!
Unless he is a bleeder and can't run without Lasix there is no way anyone beats him at Belmont. The Triple Crown returns.

He's certainly the inside favorite. If there are any horses keeping up with him in the final turn, they will have to run as fast as hell to keep up with him. I'm still amazed at how fresh he looks after the race today and two weeks ago! He could run a night race if he wanted. Seriously.

The jockey pulled him up twice or that horse could ahve led from start to finish. He reined him in at the start to get him in a groove. You watch that horse eying the horse in front of him. Then he reined him in again at the end when he looked under his arm and everyone was 7 or 8 lengths back. No need to extend the horse at all. That horse had more left in the tank. That was barely a test run for him. At Belmont when other horses are gassed he's going to pull away.

My longshot was dead last. :laugh2: He played the rabbit though.

I'm guessing that is because it is a longer race?
Yep. The Belmont Stakes is 1.5 miles long. Compare that to the Kentucky Derby set at 1.25 miles and the Preakness Stakes at just under 1.19 miles long.

Big Brown still has the advantage of winning the Triple Crown. That horse is a combination of muscle and speed. Some horses are just fast, but you can see both qualities in Big Brown. If he were human, he would probably be laughing his head off now about his chances of dominating the Belmont.

If he is healthy, if his jockey rides him right, and if above all he has the 1.5 miles in him he should win easily. BUT a whole lot of heavy favorites have lost there. 30 years since the TC was won. Longest draught in horse racings TC history. The sport needs help as well. This sort of reminds me of Secretariat and 1973. It had been 25 years then.
Now I do not see the incredible ability Secretariat had but this horse appears to pretty much own the 3 yr olds and that is all that matters.
