Doing a little back of the envelope math, I think Jerry probably just made an extra $15-20 million per year with this stunt.

Nice one Idgit.

On the subject at hand, can someone please explain this better to me. Their information page did not answer any questions for me.

Where are these "party decks"? What is the view? Standing room only, ok... but where am I standing?

There are 6 "decks". Endzone, at the end w/ the big sliding glass doors is the largest. 5 others of varying sizes, spread around the stadium on multiple levels, including some between the endzones.

Your $29 gives you access to any or all.

That's better. Next question: is it just that area that looks like the corner of a stairwell? Or does it include that area to the lower right with the shiney floor that looks like it runs the distance of the endzone?

Yes, plus many other decks. Plus you can go outside at anytime where there will be live music, concessions, and the game on big video screens. It honestly sounds like a very unique experience that may be every bit as fun as having season tickets for a fraction of the cost. If they let you bring portable chairs and set them up outside so you have a place to sit during halftime or any other time you want, then $29 is a bigtime bargain. I could see these tickets being extremely popular and running about $50 in 2-3 years.

Looks like they will make $500,000 - $800,000 per game just on the tickets. You just know that many of those people will spend extra money at the concession stands because the tickets only cost them $29. Personally, I think its a genius idea. Price those tickets low enough to get another 15,000-30,000 people buying $12 beers and $6 hot dogs.

I'm getting these for the Giants game.

I wanted to get seats, but I have had a hard time finding a group willing to shell out the cash along with me to get good ones. But I can sell them on this.

What are the parking prices?

Don't know the cost, but parking is in the cash lots by the Rangers ballpark. I will be a good little hike.

I'm excited about the $29 party pass! Not only does it sound like a good time but for the fraction of the cost of seat tickets.

For those of you wondering about being able to bring your kids to the party pass area, I understand your concern. Having kids myself, I would certainly check it out before bringing them along. If it turns out that it isn't kid friendly I'm not going to be too upset. Afterall, it's a "party pass" and I believe made with the intention of having a rowdy area. If that is indeed the case, then I'll just get some of the $75 tickets next season when I want to bring them. They would probably enjoy the seats more than staring at the back of adults, anyway.

This is a pic I swiped from DC.COM

Look at that pic...looks like $30 wasted if you're the 4th person back. $30 to watch the back of someone's head? No thanks. Even if you get there early and get front row, you can't leave or go to the bathroom or anything.

Why label it greed nancy? It doesn't affect the blackout rule and gives more fans a chance to go the game without paying too much out of pocket. Sounds like a great idea.

If it's noise he wanted, 80,000 seated spectators are more than enough. This is about cramming as many bodies into the stadium--clogged/congested plazas be damned--in order to pad the bill. Just be honest about it.

It was my understanding that those tickets were standing room only. I think Season ticket holders may feel a lot more comfortable than someone standing for 4 hours.

It will be like tailgating during games. They will wish it was for 8 hours instead of 4.

This is a great idea. I can imagine a ton of people going to the game on a whim because of the price. Nothing to do on a weekend, why not go and get a party pass? It will be the noisiest and probably the most fun place to be at the game.

There is a reason why Carnival Cruise lines is the most lively ships. Ever go on a Royal Carribean ship? The RC cruise has people with a lot more money who could go any time they wanted. The Carnival ship has a ton of people who may only get to go once and want to make sure they enjoy it.

Frankly we have had a stadium of spoiled, well off fans who are way too quite!

Jerry has already sold at least 13,000 party passes. Sounds like they can have 30,000-35,000 of those according to Wally Lynn on 103.3

I'm sure the extra $$$ had something to do with it, but come on. Even during the early to mid 90's when things were great you had players and coaches BEGGING people to show up and make real noise, get into the game more etc etc. I've been to too many games where Texas Stadium was like a damn library, even when we were kicking the crap out of someone.

I do think Jones is wanting his new stadium to be a louder, more football crazed atmosphere than Texas Stadium was. Getting more people in there, especially the kind of people these $29 seats will appeal to (younger, more engergetic people who will be standing) will help make that happen.
