The 4th down play on Bland

As we all know, BBDB doesn’t work without a stout 4 man pass rush.

That scheme won’t work in Dallas.

It never did.

Maybe someone should dust off the Marinelli game tapes and send them to Shotty.

Oh he ran right underneath it the ball whipped right past the back of his head watch it again That was the linebackers responsibility underneath that is why Bland was most likely playing off the ball by design which none of us like the design anyway but don't tell me that linebacker couldn't have got under there he was right there when the ball was thrown..

I don't know what you're watching he literally didn't know the ball zoomed right past his head he was going out to cover the far outside guy if he had just stopped if his instinct if he had any instincts he would have dropped in sean Lee would have intercepted that ball no matter what his responsibilities were at the beginning of the play if he was watching the play he'd have seen the ball went right by him..
The ball didn’t whip past the back if his head….he was actually reaching with his right hand. This camera angle makes it difficult to know how much separation there was. Just based on his and Renfro’s feet, there’s not much.

I agree completely the design was for the LB to be underneath. And I’m not absolving Murray. Just questioning why he stuttered after the snap. If the design is to be the underneath for Bland, why not take off at the snap? The only possible reason is ieither he was supposed to delay to force the ball to the other side, or had dual responsibility for the slant to either side. Either way, it’s a bad scheme with that player with that responsibility.

Zero excuse for this .........hell, Eberflus or Schotty should have called timeout

BTW.....with 6 min left, Dak thought they would get the ball back

It's puzzling why we keep giving receivers clean releases in these situations. A short first down pretty much ends the game and could be worse than giving up a long TD. If Murray was expected to play zone in that spot he should have been more toward the middle of the line in the play design. That play was either on Bland for backing up, or the coaches for telling him to play more off the receiver.

Bland is off and cant be on the level of the outside corner or the rub/pick play works everytime. Thats on Murray to get underneath there. Also, it would be nice to see the DLineman put their damn hands up to knock passes down. Theres no way you have enough time to get to Young there so rush and follow the QB's eyes and get your paws on the ball. Just terrible defense all the way around

This was all on Sam Williams. He let a 5'9" QB throw the ball directly over his helmet with no hands up - Poor play by him - easy knockdown!

The problem is we have seen them play soft on every important 4th down play. That is on the DC and no one else, bend but break and all hell breaks loose on 4th down.

Ah, I know your nerves are raw and your feelings are hurt when your MVP candidate can't move the ball 5 to 10 yards for a go-ahead field goal. Not even a young Tom Brady in his prime could have moved the ball. It would have taken an MVP QB to do that. :muttley:
Tom Brady won a championship that way against the greatest show on turf, Mahomes would’ve failed

And most of us see that but some of people don't want him they want to blame him you know why 'cause he just got paid anybody who got paid is being blamed for everything on the team even though they're not the ones who wrote the checks.. Blame both of them but yes Murray underneath that was his job he missed it he whiffed and that was Blands job to come back him up but he was a step late but yeah that was supposed to be two guys playing that in that zone and it didn't work they had it covered right underneath over top and they still did it all game long they ran all over us they threw all over us the damn leading receiver and rusher was Rico Dowell..

Guy who's been on the bench all year up until last week so apparently they didn't know his skill either they just left him on the bench for four weeks and then all of a sudden he's Derrick henry..ughh go figure

Every offensive player so far we played this year has had a career year or their best game of the year against our defense isn't that something and it's all the players they all forgot how to play football....

Steven Jones says it's not the DC it's the players they can't adjust he's saying that they just need to figure it out I have no comment steven you don't know what you're talking about You're going to lose this locker room and this team

Hell if I was the players I would do a walk out of practice right now,

I would not show up today or tomorrow or Wednesday whenever the practices are, I would do what Parsons did,

I would do a hold in I'd sit in the gym and I would be in the meeting rooms and I'd be sitting getting rehab inside at the pools and tubs, but I would not go out to the practice field until Matt Eberflus was gone...

you want to do that do a hold in show up for work but don't go out to the field Tell everybody, hey I'm hurt, i'm not feeling well, I have a stomach flu ,Yep you know how that works in the real life except they could just all be there that's the contractor obligation to show up but just say you're injured or sick And stay inside the star and don't come out to practice that's what I would do..

Wait can we have 30 back injuries remember you can't really judge a back injury so we have 30 players should go today to the trainers and tell them their back sore they can't practice...;):muttley::hammer::lmao:

Come on if the team wants change and they truly don't like Matt time to do a hold in protest passively aggressive show the jones family they don't like matt's defense and they refuse to play it.....LOL

I'm sure about that, Ray........I am 100% confident Micah presence forces them to play differently. Besides, Eberflus is using 2-3 players to manufacture the same pressure Micah did alone, which freed those players to make other plays. It's beyond me how anyone still says we don't miss Micah. Don't get me wrong, I'm OK with the trade. The damage was done but you can't get rid of your best defensive player, who happens to be a top 3 defensive player in the league, and NOT be impacted. You just can't.......
True on Micah but that shouldn't make this d THAT BAD. We were already bad.whats making losing Micah worse is our d coordinator being stubborn. Plus Diggs is trash in zone. Diggs is making business decisions. Play to our strengths not our weaknesses.

OMG...if it's the players then put different players in the damn ball game.

I don't know how many extra ones of those we have although the ones coming off IR soon are Carson, Revel, Butler ,And overshown but it might be too late.lol .
.
Definitely stubborn in one place and that's linebacker and that's probably the worst of all He wants Sanborn or Murray to be the green dot guys and he refuses to pull them off the field if they're the green dot guy it sounds like they might be the biggest problem I know him cutting underneath that play they're blaming on Bland sure look like Murray at least is half at fault..
Like I said though if these players were this angry and wanted change all they gotta do is they walk in a protest you know a hold in just all come in and say they're sick got the flu or they're hurt and they need to stay inside do it all week tuesday Wednesday Thursday no defender should go out to the practice field and line up 7 on 7 or 11 on 11 and let them install game plans literally if you want to make a difference remember do what Parsons did hold in pull a protest come to work but stay inside stay inside the training rooms the hot tubs the cold ice tubs work with the rehab people claim you're not feeling well you need to see your doctor whatever I mean I'm serious like I know it sounds crazy but if you want change if they really hate Matt why don't they just do that they don't have to have a closed door meeting they could just literally show up for work but not go out to the field...

I think I remember watching a football show and I can't remember what it was it could have been Friday Night Lights and they were upset over a player not playing or something or not making the team was it Rudy I think it was in Rudy while we're sitting here I'm talking and they all turned in their jerseys and said that they didn't want to play that way rudy would get a shot at playing well they need to do something like this but just all of them just Refuse to go out to the practice field..lol.

Question is. Why did they renew bland. He is average at besth
He's hot trash. He hasn't been right since the injuries set in last year or so. He's best in man coverage not zone. This was lazy by the front office thinking he and diggs would be good enough.

See that's where you you're wrong that may have been the Jets game they've been using 3 and 4 man down lineman they have not been bringing any blitzes they have not used any zones or twists or anything fancy to create pressure they did that even when Parsons was here he benefited from an aggressive defensive coordinator and right now we have a passive coordinator that's not using extra players to make up for Parsons missing That's the problem...

One game he did that was the Jets and they got five sacks and a bunch of pressures isn't that something?

Don't know what you're looking at but yesterday I saw too many three down lineman only with nobody blitzing and nobody coming in late or walk down in like they did with the 5th lineman and the Jets game you have to do that even when Parsons was here Dan Quinn was very aggressive he brought people from everywhere i'm not sure what you think you're seeing the Jess game is the only time they used a 5 man line on a consistent basis and it worked well they gave up a lot on the run but so did they win parsons was here don't get it twisted..

Mike Zimmer and Dan Quinn were able to manufacture pressure Matts has refused to do so except for the Jets game and we thought maybe he was on or something but he went right back to being very passive up front he doesn't like the blitz he doesn't like to twist and bring people from all over i'm sorry but it is him I didn't say owe him but mostly him yes he is not using extra players...

Carolina players and coaches were laughing on the field yesterday. They knew we were beat in the first quarter. Our defense is a Clown show :welcome:

Bland had one good season and they paid this guy elite money.

Bland and Odigizuwa both get paid over 20 million a season. They’re both just average players. Absolutely insane front office.
Like clockwork for Dallas. We love to overpay our own guys after fluke seasons. See Diggs.

This front office thinks signing their own guys to second contracts really means these were successful draft picks but it doesn't work like that.
