So everyone always talks about how much they hate people who harp on "I Told Ya So" statements.

Well, here is it's evil twin. This is where you confess about players, coaches, or strategies that you were deadset on that really backfired. For every fan who wants to talk about his football genius, there are an equal amount of ideas he was 100% wrong about. Come on, fess up, I know there were quite a few Quincy Carter and Gary Hogeboom fans at one time. :D

I'll start:

  • I was once a big fan of Troy Hambrick and thought he was the future running back of this team and was excited to see him take time away from Emmitt. :shootme:
  • I thought the firing of Tom Landry was a horrible idea and that the Cowboys were going to tank forever under Jimmy Johnson. :blind:
  • In the 2002 draft, I was all about Quentin Jammer. :omg:

I am with you on Quentin Jammer.

I thought Quincy had the ability to stay here a while.

I liked Bruce Thornton pre-injury (I stand by that - that injury hampered him).

I said that Parcells would NEVER have a player like T.O. on his team today. I told everyone the T.O. to Dallas story would NEVER come to fruition and that Parcells wouldn't have it.

Needless to say, I was wrong. Not to mention disappointed.

I'm still waiting for the "Parcells never wanted T.O., it was all Jerry Jones" proof.

Last year I was 100% certain we would be seeing a split back set of JJ and Tyson Thompson. Changing it up till the cows came home.

I would have let Landry dry up and blow away as the Cowboys Coach. And Don't even ask about how long i would have kept Troy and Emmitt playing.

I though Marcellus Willey would also be a monster.

But other than these things I have been right about everything . . . except well you know.

I have, at one point in my life, listened to, and enjoyed Coldplay.

Thank you for allowing me this confessional.

I thought Parcells would:

1. Take us to the playoffs year one (check)
2. Take us deep into the playoffs year two (nope)
3. Win us the Super Bowl (or stay deep into the playoffs) year three (nope)

Lay off, I was 12!

That the WR from Oregon State, James Newson(?), last year was a lock to be 5th or 6th on the depth chart.
That BP would go with as much 3-4 last year as he did.
That Coakley and Glover would be traded for late round draft picks before they were allowed to become FAs.

I admit that the 30 yard slant was a mental fabrication of mine :)

I admit that I thought Chutch was the next great Dallas QB

And yes, I just knew that Chan Gailey was the second coming of Jimmah

I was a Clay Shiver, Danny Noonan, Tommy Agee and STEVE WALSH backer!!!

I wanted the Boys to draft a young Qb to play under TROY that list included names like Glen Foley and Jim Drukenmiller...

predicted Tony Brackens would be better than Ray Lewis!

I thought when the Cowboys cut Jimmy Smith he would be the next Alexander Wright...

I admit I was wrong about Jerry. He went from bimbo to very good. I thought he would never make it further than bimbo.

I thought Hambrick would do better and stick longer.

I believed D Summers would be a first round pick out of SC.

I was of the opinion that Ellis would be a great DE. I also thought they were trying to get the most out of him as a hybrid DE/OLB. I never in my wildest dreams thought he would be this good and mobile. I'm still leary but I'm optimistic.

I thought Rivera would be outstanding rather than having a hard time standing.

I'm sure there is more. I'm just so forgetful I can't remember. The problem and blessing is I don't know how truly forgetful I am.

1. At one time I was convinced Brandon Everage was our next FS and the perfect replacement for Woody.

The shame overwhelms me and I can go no further for now.

How? Cuz you're gay? and you can tell who the other gay people are?

I thought Quincy Carter was legit, and just needed a better team around him.

I thought Joey Galloway was just what Troy needed.

I thought Antonio Bryant was IT.

I even thought, for a while, that the Cowboys WEREN'T going to win the super bowl this season.

I'm wrong alot.

I totally thought that "Ask how, ask now, ask Sherwin" Williams and his stupid visor was a star in the making.
