The bad and good about today

It's been tough watching football today because our Cowboys, playing their A game, would have kicked the arse of all 4 teams playing today.

We beat both teams playing in the NFC and played with NE at less than full strength and a slow start.

It's sad knowing that, but we are young, talented, have cap space and plenty of draft picks...I'll bet you right now we go farther next year than any of the teams that played today.

I agree BZ. I have not been impressed with the level of football played today by anyone. What a waste.

I couldn't agree more. I don't know about the Pats, but we have a better team than both these NFC teams. Wish we had played like it.

Good post. There are some who will not see beyond the two consecutive playoff losses, but the fact remains that this team has improved. After Parcells freshman season, the team has gone from being a 6-10 loser, to a 9-7 wildcard contender, to a 9-7 wildcard team and to a 13-3 divisional round team (and a #1 seed to boot).

Make no mistake. Any loss is hard to take, but it is equally correct to say that this team has gotten better each season. This team is on the upswing and any fan wanting to use the back-to-back losses as justification for committing Hari kari should just do so--and provide fans who can see beyond the losses a little less "It's the end of the world" moaning.

Wait till Next Year!!!

It's all we've got. You know if Crayton doesn't break that route off in the end zone, and if the Cowboys got their heads on straight, they'd be able to beat the Pack and Pats.

I bet the Giants shock the world and win two weeks from now.

But I don't much care. Either team losing would please me. Too bad both can't.

The Cowboys better be getting down to strictly business next year.

It still sickens me how poorly Dallas played down the stretch and into the playoffs.

If Dallas had to play with a hobbled TO and a Witten on IR, Dallas would not beat the Cardinals on the road forget about going in to the houses of the #1 and #2 seeded team and knocking them off.

Giants played with heart and determination. If Dallas would have done that we would be talking about how to beat New England two weeks from now.

Dallas has zero excuses for not being in the SuperBowl this year. Zero.

They better be strictly business next year.

Beat the stinking Giants not once, but twice, in the regular season. I hope every player, coach, and member of the Cowboy organization recognizes the opportunity squandered this year and focuses on what needs to be done to get this team over the hump.

Do you really think so? We never proved it on the field. I think a lot of fans are koolaid drinking drunks. I don't know how else to explain it.

Last year, I heard "we should have beaten the Seahawks and if we had we certainly would have beaten the Bears and been in the SB. We are the better team. Wait until next year."

I hate the Giants but I take my hat off to them. While the Cowboys were lollagagging, the Giants were taking care of business. They beat three division winners on the road after playing the Patriots to a near standstill.

I heard all the koolaid flowing before our game with the Giants. We blasted ESPN and all the sportswriters who gave the Giants any chance of beating us.

Why? Because we were at home. We were rested. We were healed up. We had two weeks to prepare for the Giants. They didn't have a chance.

A little like last year when Seattle had to pull people off the streets to play in their secondary. They didn't have a chance. Then this year some of these Koolaid drunks said we would blow out the Giants by half time.

Well, the Giants came in well prepared, well coached and focused and played 60 minutes of football. We acted like we couldn't wait for the game to end so we could return to the beach or wherever.

I was impressed with the way the Giants made adjustments at half time against the Boys and we never made adjustments. The Giants again made adjustments at half time against the Packers but the Packers never did. Both the Packers and the Cowboys were stymied after half time.

It is tough traveling on the road and beating two 13-3 teams at home but the Giants did. I don't like Eli and "don't like" is putting it mildly, but he outplayed Romo and Favre.

I will be pulling for the Patriots. I don't like them but I can't pull for the Giants although I must say they are in the SB because they DESERVE to be there. When you koolaid drinkers sober up you will have to agree also.

If we would bring our "A" game in the NFC Championship game it would have be a Rout.

Perhaps that's why I said I "wish" they would have played like it. I never said the Giants didn't play better or didn't deserve to win.

Lighten up Francis.

Amen. I watched that game knowing how we handled those teams this year and gave that game away last week. I just feel robbed. How the hell is that team going to the SB?! What a joke. Thanks again Crayton, Fasano and the refs (grounding, Davis unsportsmanlike, and Ware offsides). Without you guys we would have been playing today. What a waste of a season. I have to live here in NJ and be around this crap now. Somebody shoot me.

1. We beat the Giants twice this year. I think THAT, and the way by which we lost last week, lends some credibility to those who think we are the better team.

2. I totally agree with your second point. I would make our team watch the Giants last four games.

On the nose. Congrats to those boys. And though I would like to feel good about what we might do, nothing is certain.

As for bettering these teams playing today... might help if Dallas played quality football after November. I would take that.
