Let me know if anyone catches your eye (for the right price)

Michael Johnson had 17.5 sacks between 2011-2012, he's had 2 subpar years in a row, but is young and might be able to rebound if put in the right program, and will likely come cheap.

Kroy Biermann isn't much in pass rush, but is pretty good as a run stopper, and probably an upgrade over Spencer.

John Abraham is a sack machine who missed almost all of last year with concussion issues and is getting up there in years, with the right contract it might be worth kicking his tires and have him rotate in.

Without much looking I came up with those guys who I think all COULD add something to our system for the right amount. I think at this point the Cowboys are just looking to get diamonds in the rough, and don't want to risk finding some coal in a diamond mine... or something like that.

Adrian Clayborn was really good in college, but hasn't be able to stay healthy in the pros. Might be worth kicking the tires there and seeing if anything is left in the tank

Clayborn signed with falcons

I'm breathing easy... having seen what this team (defense) was capable of without a pass rush. No need to break the bank or the emergency glass. I think perhaps the front office feels similar. The upgrades will happen in time.

Clayborn already signed with Atlanta. Biermann and Abraham? Lol

We want sacks right? Yes I know he is really old (so are several other guys on our team) but Abraham is a sack strip fumble machine and had at least 9.5 sacks in all but one of his full seasons. For the right price, and with the right program in place, why not take a shot at him?

Last year the Front Office thought we were rebuilding.

Still worked. Depending on the cost, I don't really want Hardy (over $12 is a no, even $10 and I can't blame them for avoiding it) and that seems to be the only guy on here that anyone around here wants.

I'm cool with resigning Spencer if he reaches third tier money.
This was a rebound year for him, and he stayed healthy. I would expect a nice pass rushing year from him in a rotation in 2015.

John Abraham or Freeney...whoever will come for the cheapest deal.

If Abraham has anything left in the tank and can recover from his concussion issues I think that would be a really nice pickup for the right cost (last 4 full seasons has gotten at least 9.5 sacks, and last 3 has gotten at least 4 forced fumbles). I am a little more reluctant on Freeney just because he is several years removed from an elite season and is only 2 years younger.

Agreed. I'd almost prefer to sign Spencer the the John Abrahams of the world.

I think even with a healthy Spencer (assuming he comes back) and Lee our defense will be better this year and it wasn't horrible last year.

Everyone worries about a bad contract down the road, but a huge hole on the field hurts a lot more. There is risk either way.
