We're probably not going to the Super Bowl this year. In fact I would say it's only a 5% chance. We will probably get slammed by Seattle in 2 weeks, and I fear for Romos life if Houston lines Watt up over Free. Our head coach? To me he's average. Our team has lots of injuries, what's new? We do not have the best back in the NFL, and I'm a Murray supporter. But let me say this, it's the best I've felt in years about this team.

How long have we cried for an offensive line? We've got the best in the league.
How many times have kickers lost us games in the last decade? A lot, but none for the foreseeable future.
When was the last time we had a passionate defense? Being 25, I don't remember one.
And since when do we have EFFECTIVE balance on offense? Not till a month ago.

I feel great about this team. It's incredibly refreshing to see all the things we've begged for over the years slowly but surely changing. Jerry, as annoying as he can be at times, is letting his coaches coach, and is giving Will Mcclay tons of freedom on draft day. Witten seems rejuvenated, and it's great to see my boy Romo have a supporting cast. Wouldn't it be fitting if he wins a SB one day because he finally got HELP!? I will cry the day he retires, whether he wins a ring or not.

We are moving in the right direction. Whether you're an optimist, a pessimist, or a realist like myself you can see it, you can feel it. We need a strong defensive draft, we have to retain people like Dez and Harris. We need health, and I think we need to break the bank for Marinelli. No he wasn't a good HC, he was pitiful, but he's been a great coordinator at all his pit stops and we need some continuity. I think with luck, a strong defensive draft, health, and some key re-signs we could make a run next year.

Just cause I'm 25 doesn't mean I don't enjoy some Kool-aid

Me too and I'm twice your age. I lived through the most dominant teams of the 90's. I'm starting to get a feeling of that to a small degree. If we keep this up for the next few games, I'd say were back.

This has been a wierd year, nobodies who they were supposed to be. Glad we bucked the mold and are not who I was thinking we would be. This version is much better and more fun.

I agree with almost every point you made. I just can't share the extreme optimism yet.

I'm just so .........jaded.........yep that's the word I'm looking for

I like your reply but i wonder about your best RB comment. Murray doesn't have to be the best but his damn good.
The rest I agree with. Yap it is refreshing to see the Cowboys coming back. We still some things to learn and fix. But we're a coming.

Still not expecting much for this season but I'm more at peace with the direction of this franchise than I've been since Parcells was here. If they keep rebuilding the trenches and shooting down Jerry on draft day (no matter how much he whines), I can live with some growing pains.

sunday night was the most fun i've had watching the cowboys in quite awhile.

we have a very...very good o-line.

next year we need to draft romo's eventual replacement...and the rest on defense.

i think romo has another year left in him thanks to the o-line.

Feels just like the Cowboys 1990 season, we are finally starting to build something and turn the corner. Keep saying that 2015 we make a big run...next draft we add a couple of defensive studs, add in Lawrence from this yrs draft and we will be tough. Romo may finally get his shot at a ring...

I'll be convinced and optimistic once I stop:

1. expecting a penalty after a big offensive play
2. expecting the penalty to be on the Cowboys after every flag is thrown
3. holding my breath after every Romo pass for fear of a killer INT
4. holding my breath after every Murray run for fear of a fumble
5. stop worrying that we will lose even when we're up by 21 with 8 minutes left

Legit concerns.
I think same as well at times. But #5 is my biggest. When it was 31-17, I was thinknig, man they surely wouldn't blow this one. But it was Bress back there, so the thought was there.
I kept thinking, just make one stop, Romo would not let them do another 3 and out against the Saints defense.

Then something happened to the Saints that usually happens to us. Missed pass, penalty, stopped short of first down, and failure on the fake punt.

I will say so far, this team seems more disciplined than before. Not sure where they stand vs. other teams on penalties. But not seeing as many it seems, and especially on big plays.

Ok so they beat what appears to be a poor Titans team.

They let the Rams abuse them for a half & then suddenly something changed.

Whoever changed the flow during that halftime in STL should be congratulated because this team has been different since then.

NO may not have a good record but I think most NFL fans accept that is a good team. They destroyed us last year. We destroyed them this year.

Keep it up!

I'm not buying in, yet.

I've seen this song and dance before. Then it all falls apart.

I'm hopeful, though, because it seems that our running game is legit this year.

If the team plays with the energy they played with against the Saints for the rest of the year, then I would definitely say it's a 1990 type feel, but with more veterans at some key positions. One thing is clear, there is a real effort going on to try to establish a new identity on this team. That in itself is refreshing to watch to see how it develops. The fact that it just looks and feels different than past years is a sign of an attempt to change if nothing else. We have seen it before for a game here or there when this team has been up for a big game. Let's see if they can do it every game.

I'm in a 'I may have underrated this team but I need to see more' mode.
