Tainted or not, I'll always watch my Cowboys and Redsox play. I don't give a damn about the NBA anymore. I've tried, especially since my childhood team (Celtics) are once again a team to beat, but it just isn't happening.

I rely heavily on hockey to get me through this time of the year. Thankfully, my Capitals are starting to come on. The NHL is a terrific league, and its a shame it doesn't have the support that the "big three" does.

Yeah I like the NHL to and the Dallas Stars. It's their own fault they don't have much support, they had to have their lockout during the '04-'05 season and if they do recover from it it'll be a long time from now. Perhaps all the cheating going on in the big three sports will turn more people on to hockey, who knows.

I'm just glad we do not cheat.

You do not know this to be true. TO is in incredible shape and heals way faster than anyone I've ever known.

The possibility is always there.

At one time, Rafael Palmeiro was my favorite Texas Ranger because he was a good player and I thought he was of high character. Obviously, that was proven incorrect and he has since been added to my disliked sports figures list.

He and Juan Gonzalez get a little extra hate from me because they tainted the Texas Rangers name.

I think it pretty much mirrors our morality in this country today. Character, integrity, honor, honesty don't really mean much to alot of people in this nation anymore especially when money is at stake.
When I read your thread title I thought you were posting a story about Aikman, Emmitt and Michael being on steriods.

I think you are right.

Which is why you are American.

I think he's American because he was born in America.

Look to the IRL (or whatever the initials of that racing league are) to how cheaters should be dealt with.

VERY sternly.

And this has what to do with cheating?

The possibility is always there.

So is the possibility that I'll win 150+ million in the next lotto.

The only reason that Succor is the worlds most "popular sport" is because most of the world is turd world, and all you need to play succer is a foot and a coconut.

And, please..........don't EVER come around and spin that Little "E" is some "victim" of a NASCAR conspiracy "out to get him". NEVER in the history of NASCAR has ANY DRIVER been so promoted, coddled and baby-sat as much as Dale Earnhardt Jr. Him and all his 17 wins..................Everything about NASCAR and the TV coverage of NASCAR is directly and purposely pointed toward pushing Earnhardt Jr. to the front, no matter where he finishes in a race. Ever been to a race? Ever see at least HALF the stands filled with the color red and Budweiser folks? Ever see the disgracefull throwing of Bud cans and bottles after any race his fans think he should've won? Are you watching how the rule's change every year to accommodate WHERE Jr. finished the prior year????

PUUUULLLLEEEEAAASSSSEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

Little E was an example...and you missed my point. The point was, why should a driver be docked valuable points for a verbal slip up right after a heated race, but not be fined points for obvious violations that allowed the enhancement of his vehicle and a better opportunity to win?

I can see handing out a monetary fine for the verbal comment.....but no points should be lost. NASCAR is big time now, and with the huge corporate sponsorships, and the national growth of the sport, they want to be able to appeal to the masses, and be somewhat PC. I get it. So fine em money, not points.

I think points should be won and lost on the race track or in the garage. If you or your team violated the specs set by NASCAR, you should be fined, lose points, and possibly suspended a certain number of races. This way the integrity of NASCAR remains in tact. Everyone tries to get an edge. But if the penalties that were put in place were more adequate, teams would definitely have to weigh in on just how important it is to win the race....is it important enough to cheat, possibly get caught, and lose money, points, and races.......and possibly some lucrative sponsors.....

The NFL has the Cheatriots and their Dynasty being completely questioned

The NBA had the referee scandal

MLB has the steroids scandal

This has to be one of the darkest time to be a Sports fan......talk about a huge hit to the integrity and legitimacy of all 3 leagues.

IMO, NASCAR is also tainted.......Dale Jr. loses points for saying 1 cuss word in a post race interview, when emotions are high and he was mad at himself for something stupid he did on the track.....yet countless teams are caught cheating with their cars, using better gas, raising spoilers, using different intakes and so forth....and no points losses or suspensions.

Add to that the mess that Boxing has become over the last 15 years as well as the general disinterest in the NHL (actually the most upstanding league out there right now)......

and Pro Sports in America have become a travishamockery

As bad as the steroids era for baseball is it no way and hell even live up to the Blacksocks scandal they had to deal with back in the day.

Cliche' response from someone who's never taken the time to educated himself about the sport. Heard that a million times. Nothing original.
Every race, every track, every car, every set-up..........different every weekend. Weather, banking, shocks, spring rubbers, tires, etc, etc, etc............
Just like the NFL. Every week poses a different race and a different set up, challenge and approach. I'm not trying to convince you to give NASCAR a try. DO us all a favor.....don't bother. We don't need you. Stay home or watch Judge Judy instead. Who cares?
But don't diss something you know NOTHING about.................

um....okay...great, i would love to watch it now. i would love to watch the weather, the banking, shocks, spring rubbers, tires differ from race to race.
paint dries differently each time and every time you paint a house, depends on the color, the weather, the surface the paint is on, etc. does that mean I'm going to want to sit for 2 hours to watch paint dry? no.

I think it's niave to believe that every single sports team out there doesn't have at least one or two players/coaches who cheat in some form or fashion.

I've never been niave enough to believe that steroid uses only happen to play for San Diego or Oakland or New England. I'm sure there are Cowboys who have/are using them and just haven't been caught.

I'm sure that's true through out the history of the sport.

Plus how can anyone downgrade someone for being a horrible human, crap on them, and say they hate them for tainting the Rangers, Cowboys, or whatever other sports teams name and then turn around and have had no problem celebrating the catches, yards, and TD's that Michael Irvin brought to the Cowboys?

The guy was a coke head. He got in trouble off the field. Yet I don't see a whole lot of hate thrown his way by Cowboys fans. Why? Cause he was on a winning team. Same reason most New England fans probably don't hate on Harrison for using HGH, or Bill for taping signals. When you bring championships to a team some how being a cheater, or doing things that would normally be looked at as dirty and such, are some how swept under the rug.

Now, don't get me wrong, I've had no problem ragging on the New England fans cause of their teams cheating, or San Diego fans cause of Merriman, but I do mine more out of fun, and tongue in cheek, cause it would be niave to believe that I root for teams that only have 'good people' on them.

I love Michael Irvin. Always have, always will, and I don't care if he was a coke head or not. So how would I hate on someone else, on another team, for being into something dirty as well?

For the record I was a huge LT fan as well, despite the fact that he was coked out of his mind crazy.

It's life. It's not cool, it's not something people should do, I don't condone cheating or using drugs, but I'm not going to burn the people on other teams at the stake and then turn around and smile while celebrating championship teams that had players on them that did bad things as well.
